The website for this hotel calls it a "stay 'n play" resort. While I was not expecting luxury, there is nothing about this property that feels like a resort. It is a basic hotel, with basic rooms, and a small pool area with a hot tub that was not working. The Wifi in our room was also not working during our entire 4-night stay. If you Google this place, you will find that it used to be a Best Western, and that is definitely still the vibe. It's also a bit of a stretch to call it a "waterfront" lodge. While some of the property does extend to the water, the main part of the hotel and the majority of the rooms are not even close to waterfront. I booked this place thinking that it would be somewhere where we could hang out and enjoy some amenities, but there is literally nothing on site. There's not even really a nice place to sit and enjoy a view of the bay. To be fair, the hotel is centrally located in Crystal River, and you can walk to some restaurants and to the downtown. Beyond that, however, I would not recommend this place. It's possible that in the future, once it is fully renovated, it will be something more akin to a resort. For now, sadly, it is very much not. When we were checking out, the woman at the desk, whose name tag identified her as some sort of manager, asked how our stay had been. I told her that the Wifi had been out the whole time and my sister thought she'd been bitten by bed bugs. The woman replied only this, "Expedia will send you your receipt."

Great property
Wonderful property! It's obvious the property has grown over the years. We stayed in what appeared to be an older wing or original wing of the property. The room was clean and spacious. There were a few obvious patches on the ceiling ( probably storm) related; however that was of no concern. It appears the bathroom was well updated within the last was few years. However, it did take about 5-10 min of running water in the shower to get hot. The view from the room was spaticular! Front office staff at both arrival and departure were great. Given the opportunity, we would definitely stay here again!
