Booked a bed in 4-person shared dormitory with private bathroom for 3 nights (6-9 Sep 2016) for about USD15 per night.
Heading to Plaza de Armas was easy downhill 10 mins walk, walking back up took much longer for me, I was out of breath very easily from the altitude. 2 cheap laundry places very close to the hostel, very handy.
Bed was ok comfortable, shower was very basic, the hot water was a little unstable but not a big problem. There was a cabinet where I could lock my handcarry suitcase and socket for charging for each bed. My room was right by the common area which would be a problem to those sensitive to noise as you can hear the chatting and people walking down the stairs.
Basic breakfast included, can add eggs for extra charge. Chocolate bars, water, hot drinks and some toiletries available for purchase at reasonable prices. Also towels available for rent from the reception.
Wifi was unstable, especially in the evening when most people are using it. I managed to submit a Bolivia visa application online in the morning without problem.
All the staff was friendly but one day staff (I forgot his name, a young lad whom studied in America and speak fluent English), he was super helpful.
Overall, good stay and good value.
