Our stay on the banks of the mighty St. George River was wonderful; it was a delight each day. The tides, the birds, the moon, the moss – it was invigorating and relaxing both! Great for clearing the head in a busy world. We loved the open kitchen/living room and dining room area. As others have noted, the kitchen in particular was much better equipped than an average holiday stay. Even the knives were sharp! And the fact that there were well-stocked cupboards meant that we were far more inclined to leave items we had bought for others to use after we had left. The house was comfortable and feels lived in, the books and games are good, the lobsters are within easy reach, the bbq there for grilling, the whole family can hang out by the firepit on the cool lobster-red deck chairs under the lights. It reminded me of what New Yorkers might call a cabin upstate by the lake, except there are lobster boats and spectacular coasts and lighthouses nearby. You feel the sea life. I’d note that while the house is sheltered you are in the nature, so be thinking about -- and prep -- for mosquitoes and gnats before sitting out there. The little jetty could use some fixing up as the river boulders are great but a bit slippery and seaweed-ey for sitting on. Altogether, though we live far away, we’d love to go back.
