Hotel in disrepair
Disappointing stay at the Dahab Resort. The pictures looked amazing but in reality the resort has fallen into disrepair. 3 of the pools are empty with the pool walls crumbling. The staff are extremely helpful and kind.

not what we expected
for the price it was rather a disappointment. although wifi is listed as an amenity, it is for a ridiculous charge, around 3$ for 15 minutes. more than half of the lagoons in the photos are without water, the hotel closes the pool and access to the ocean at 5pm and you must take a taxi to get into the main dahab area. would not stay here again.

Gone to Seed
We booked this resort for our anniversary as a getaway from backpacker comfort levels after some months on the road. The room itself fit the bill - modern TV, clean and modern bathroom, comfortable bed - although the furniture was all pretty dated. However, everything else was disappointing. The WiFi passwords were given out for a ridiculous price, despite us having made free WiFi a criteria of our booking... thankfully the manager was apologetic on this point and offered us some time cards. However, this set the tone for our whole stay. The food was extremely limited and typical bland options, especially for vegetarians; the "fine dining" restaurant was supposed to be open on one night of our stay, but it never did, leaving us with a big expensive buffet or the limited room service menu as our options. To make matters worse, my partner came down with a stomach bug as we were leaving! The resort decor is also in serious need of improvement, with several of the decorative pools empty, and half of the swimming pool area roped off for a half-finished refurbishment. Honestly, the place looks like the management has given up on it and is just keeping it alive by the bare bones.

Needs urgent updating
The hotel was empty, the oasis had no water, kids club was closed for the first 8 days of our stay. We were not offered upgrading and were refused a hamok for our balcony. Our room had an ant infestation and the bathroom was in great desrepair. The staff was very nice . The beach was amazing and very clean. The hotel shops are very price and when we asked about a near City centre we where told there was not one but amazingly there was a very nice one not 5 min from the hotel with lots of shops and restaurants and the taxi journey to it was only 2 gb pounds. Overall I would not recommend this Hotel but would recommend Dahab as a Holliday destination.

A five star hotel, that doesn't answer phone!
A hotel that there is no way to get in touch with can't be a 5 stars hotel. As i'd been trying to contact them with tens of phone calls and an e-mail without any kind of answer, however it still a very good value of money, great beach, ok breakfast, checking in in no time.

Dehab resort on the lagoon
I checked in during the off season, the middle of March. I wanted to escape for a couple of days and relax in a beuatiful n quite city.. Dehab was the exact place to acheieve this mission. The beach was fantastic and the snorkeling was fantastic. The rooms were tile flooring but clean. I do recomendthis Resort but between April n September. Oh n yes... The food was excellent. Chow for now...

Nice hotel close to the beach
Pleasant experience. Wind on the balcony made it impossible to sit there. There were very few guests in the hotel and, therefore, did not understand why we were put in a room farthest from the beach and in a wind tunnel.

Dahab Resort Hotel. A great place to stay.
Dahab Resort Hotel used to be the Dahab Hilton, changing brands just over a year ago. I have stayed at this hotel many times before. Its position is superb with its own beach, beautiful mountain back-drops, the gardens beautifully maintained, with stunning flowering red hibiscus, sweetly scented petunias - gorgeously perfuming the evening air, pretty bougainvilleas and lawns well tended. Not all the scenic lagoons were water-filled during my stay (? maintenance). The staff are courteous, friendly and unfailingly helpful. The rooms kept very clean. The bathrooms are getting rather dated now but can still perform the required functions. The breakfasts in early March were OK, though don't offer as many choices as when the hotel is more fully occupied (or when it was Hilton-brand). The attached facilities - dive centre (Sinai Divers) and windsurfing school are very good. The hotel is good value and I much look forward to my next visit there.

Superb location
The hotel's location is superb, especially if you enjoy swimming (25m pool, water temperature OK in early November), wind-surfing, or diving (Sinai divers - very safe and reasonable charges, are on site). It is a shame that the Hilton franchise is ending at the end of December 2013. The hotel (owned by MisterHotels of Egypt) doesn't meet Hilton international standards for 5* but is more than good enough for me. The value for the price we paid was outstanding.

Beginning to look its age
My wife and I have stayed here annually between 2006 and 2013. The convenience, for us, has been the proximity to Sinai Divers dive centre. We have stayed B&B each time and gradually seen the quality and variety of the breakfast buffet decline. This is still a good value hotel if you can get it for £45/night or less in a standard room. The staff are still great but I suspect they too are becoming a little despondent at how the hotel is being looked after by it's parent group (Hilton). This hotel was built in 1999 but its heyday is long since gone. We are told that its ownership is under review due to leases finishing and it may be managed by others from Jan 2014. Look at Swiss Inn & Dahabeya as alternatives to this in the same location.

Pleasant staff
Staff was pleasant, although we were a little disappointed we couldn't get cold drinks on the beach, even pepsi or water. We went into Dahab city for drinks and meals on most nights. Room was clean and cool, and after a day of diving quite enjoyable.

Try the Swiss Inn it's much better!
Ten years ago this hotel was superb but it has deterioated since then. The food is pretty dreadful and the service in the restaurant poor. Crockery is chipped and the coffee served in vacuum flasks. Various items at breakfast ran out and took ages to be replenished. The exterior of the buildings and the paths were in disrepair. When we arrived we were given a room with no view at the back of the hotel.Initially they said we couldn't move as they were full. When I asked for a room upgrade, (at a cost of a £100), a room suddenly came available! The chap who cleaned the room and the person who handed out the beach towels, quite a few of those had seen better days, were excellent. We ended up eating in Masbat every night as it was cheaper and infinitely better than the hotel.

Hilton hotel, dahab
We have stayed here several times. Location on the beach is lovely and breakfast but waffle machine not available at end of week but hotel now looks dated and tired - service in beach bar was terrible - it was not like that previously. We ordered food in windjammer bar which came late and was terrible - not sure we will return

A paradise for wind surfers
The staff helpful and welcoming, but standard of food below 5 star Hilton requirements. A few minor issues with the room but we liked the tennis court apart from the smell.

Relaxing getaway
The Hotel was not flawless but the room was clean spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and I loved the freshly made Crepes, omelettes and fried eggs. Plenty of choice and service was excellent. The beach was clean and again great service from the staff. Sun loungers very comfortable and clean beach towels every day. Plenty of water sports in area if that's your thing! Beach bar served good snacks and drinks to your lounger and again staff friendly and helpful. The only downside to the hotel was the condition to some areas of the grounds which needed repair - Broken concrete drain covers (which had some attempt to protect the guests) and the lagoon edges needed repair but I believe the lagoons are having a facelift soon. Despite this I still would highly recommend.

Brilliant place to stay. Stunning location, beautifully designed, lovely gardens and in late October, the weather was superb and the sea warm. Pool was lovely. Simply furnished rooms, tidied and cleaned daily. All in all another (my 16th) lovely stay.

Great hotel but food could be improved
Great location and facilities but the food from the restaurants is average at best. We had a problem with the A/C in our room and the staff couldn't have been more helpful (we were upgraded to a suite for the "inconvenience"). Overall an outstanding hotel but you'll need to budget for taxis to and from the centre of Dahab (15 - 20LE each way) where there are restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

overall it's good value for money but not top
overall it's ok, large room although oldish style. That needs a refurbishing. Quite a few issues ( broken items in the room/bathroom, some juice pooring in the minibar, etc..) that got fixed after we mentioned them. Otherwise service was good, breakfast is good too. Given the reasonnable prices in Dahab, don't expect the same standard as Hilton hotels in large cities.
