I like this hotel. The meals at the bar were great and reasonably priced, the rooms clean and fairly quiet. The parking situation was confusing and I ended up paying for parking after they told me it was free. Hopefully with the new Marriott owners they won't change the excellent service and food.

Newman is excellent for a stay near SMU campus especially - very convenient to Central Expressway in order to access downtown or North Dallas as well. Rooms are as expected but comfort of bed and pillows were way above expectations and I stay in a lot of hotels for work. The cafe area serves great food! The only critical thing I have to say is at the prices they charge there should be at least two free bottles of water in the room with access to other water for sale. At $5/bottle for a smaller bottle - that feels Like a lower level hotel play…otherwise it’s a great place to stay!
