"Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone looking for a charming and memorable stay! "This was our first stay in Châlons-en-Champagne, and it certainly will not be the last! Wonderful dog friendly hotel in the middle of the city, with a lovely champagne bar attached, lots of great restaurants near by, and a beautiful little park a few min away. The room we stayed in was really nice, clean and spacious, and the service from the staff was excellent! "

"The only good thing about this hotel is that is conveniently located. We travelled as a family and booked two rooms late check-in went smoothly. We were shocked to find there were communal showers and toilets did not feel safe and the Rhoomes were smelly and quite dirty. The mattress was uncomfortable and the sheets did not feel particularly clean and were very itchy. One room has marks on the ceiling the other had graffiti on the walls and television screen."
