"Lovely quaint stop for the night, a characterful period property in a beautiful area. Fantastic food and service from the staff. My room was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Smallish room as expected in a property like this but didn't feel cramped and shower pressure was excellent. Great walks available from the front door or a short walk away. Would definitely stay again. "

"One night stay en route to Whitby 2 rooms booked. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms. Rooms were very spacious and clean and had all we required. We went down to the bar for food and drinks the food was very good and enjoyed by the three of us. We enjoyed the evening with the locals and our host who made us all feel very welcome. After a great nights sleep we all had breakfast again very good and couldn't be faulted. All in all a great place to stay if you're in the area and very convenient for visiting Whitby. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Witching Post Inn and would definitely visit again. "

"We fell in love with the cottage from the time we first entered - to find everything needed to make tea and biscuits, and a vase of flowers in the kitchen (and the unique feature - the cell door and barred windows on the old police cell!) The cottage had plenty of space and was very comfortable and well fitted - comfortable beds and linen, plenty of towels, well equipped kitchen and everything nice and clean.The heating system was of a type I had not previously encoutered, burning wood pellets, but the comprehensive instructions in the house guide made this easy to use and it worked perfectly. Add to this an ideal location for exploring the moors (and the local pubs and co-op), and this is a cottage I would love to return to another year."
