Stayed in a cabin for most of May 2022. The cabin we were initially allocated was not clean (scum on doors, something spilled on floor and not mopped up, dust and dirt on many surfaces) and it smelled of cigarettes. We told reception and they offered to move us to a different cabin which turned out to be an upgrade. This one was an improvement in terms of cleanliness and smell; and we settled in, unpacking our suitcases for a 3 week stay. The next day we were told a mistake had been made and we would have to pay the additional $1000 to stay in this cabin or we could move back to the original one. The area manager was eventually consulted and it was agreed we would not pay the extra charge.
After a week, all of us had respiratory issues and we discovered the bedroom aircon was full of mould. My son and I were put on medication by a doctor and told to have the aircon cleaned or stop using it. We reported it twice for maintenance but nothing was done nor did the manager come to speak to us about it (we were told that she would). I bought products to clean more mould off window sills, curtains and walls so we wouldn’t get sick again. We stopped using the bedroom aircon.
Outside of the cabin, the jumping pillow is deflated and unusable, the squash courts are locked and inaccessible, the playground has sections taped off as they need fixing (other parts should be taped off too as there are sharp, rusted pieces sticking up on the platforms), many washing machines are out of order.
