About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Lake, Beach, Seclusion, but near everything. What more could you ask for?

Start on the ground level at the garage. Decorated in a beach theme, complete with Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and new gas grill. Pull the chairs and/or picnic table outside and enjoy the nice weather, or just leave the garage door open and enjoy nature without being out in the elements on a rainy day. Bring your board games, you have plenty of room with this game/gathering area. You can also pull out the picnic table to park a car inside if you wish.

Walk up the stairs into the living room area with a large sectional couch that is spacious and comfy. Someone may even want to forego a bed for the reclining end! There is also a TV with 20+ channels to enjoy if you’re ready for some inside time.

Next is the modern kitchen with everything you would ever need to cook a meal, grab your groceries at Walmart which is less than 10 miles away. There are also a couple of Amish groceries stores in the area. Don’t want to cook? There are 2 restaurants within a couple of miles! Enjoy your food at the restaurant, or bring it back to the dining room which has seating for 6.

There are two bedrooms in this Carriage House, one with a full size queen bed, the other with a Double and Twin bunk, there is also a roll away bed, but the recliner on the couch is also an excellent place to sleep.

The bathroom has a full size shower and tub, perfect for a relaxing tub soak, and is stocked with towels and wash cloths.

Stackable washer and dryer are neatly tucked away in a closet for your using.

Go outside and enjoy 4 acres of wooded area, bring your lawn games! You have your own private fire pit to have S’Mores around, the lake view just steps away. There are plenty of outdoor recreational options. Go down the stairs to the dock area and fish off the edge, popular fish species in the lake include Black Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Green Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, an Walleye, don’t forgot your pole! Public hunting land is within 10 miles of this location. Looking for a more relaxing vacation? Then the private beach area down by the dock is the place for you!

Nearby is the Hartwick Marina at which you can rent a boat to take out on the lake as well. While you are out on the lake, pull-up to Smokey’s beach area and be entertained with beach volleyball, or head inside for a drink or order food from their delicious menu. If you prefer pizza, tie up to docks right outside The Pizza Place.

This is an excellent location to bring the family to enjoy some quality time, or even come solo if you are looking for some peace and quiet in nature. You can be calmed by the seclusion, or get out and explore all the amenities the lake has to offer. A map is provided at the house to show you where everything is in relation to where you are. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, while at the same time close to everything!

The Field of Dreams movie site is less than 24 miles away, take the family to check it out.

To see what all is going on at the lake, visit lakedelhi.com!

There is a large, woofy, but very friendly neighbor dog. He will probably come out to greet you, but he has an electronic restraint system so he won’t be able to come out onto the property.

If you intend to rent this property in the winter months, a 4WD or AWD is recommended, while to get to the property it is blacktop the whole way, the driveway down to the house is not.

**This property is not intended for events or family reunions, no more than 12 people should be on the property at one time.**

Essentials?
Place was great and clean but would have been nice to have a few essentials such as soap and shampoo. Also there was no dishwasher and no dish soap. I realize that this is VRBO, but at the price of this unit, one would expect some basics to be covered. TV was very basic too. Having to find a store in a rural area so that we can shower and do the dishes was inconvenient especially when paying this price.

Not accurately described..
The directions to the property were not great, it took an hour to find it, the property was not well maintained, lawn wasn’t mowed, tree limbs in view of the lake. The steps to the dock were nice and the dock was nice! We couldn’t get our truck and boat into the driveway! It was too tight. The home itself was nice! Smaller but nothing for our family to do at the house itself! No games, movies, no deck to sit on! Not what we expected or would choose again!

Would love to move here some day!
We had never heard of this lake before. We were on the hunt for a quiet lake trip with our three kids. This place was perfect! We enjoyed the two days and will be back! The house was super cute and perfect size for our family of 5. Only issues were cooking. It was hard to cook with the pans and found no pepper. The outside could use some clean up as the bugs were a bit of a nuisance. We spent a lot of time on the lake and it was beautiful and peaceful!

Beautiful property for a fall getaway!
We had our annual girls’ weekend at Lake Delhi this year and we loved our stay at this property! The fall foliage was beautiful, we took a ton of photos of the trees on the lake, and spent some time in Manchester. Mostly, we had a lot of fun making dinner and hanging out on the couch catching up! It’s a lovely, clean, secluded place that was perfect for our crew! Thanks, Julie!

Very nice, but not ideal for boats
My family and I stayed for the weekend and we had lots of fun! The only downfall was the property wasn’t very boat friendly. The driveway is long and narrow with lots of tress so luckily we found a neighbor that was willing to let us park our boat and trailer there. We were also told we could tie our boat up to the dock but there were no cleats to tie to or bumpers. Overall though the house was nice and we had a great time! The lake is really nice and both of the local restaurants are too!

I would definitely stay there again. The only recommendation I have is better signage to guide the renter to the property, especially if arriving at night. GPS didn't get us to the exact location. Also, put the address number on the house. We didn't know we found the property until we called the property manager and she described it to us.

DISAPPOINTED
The lake/river access is nice, it was peaceful to watch the boats & my grandsons had fun swimming/playing on the tiny beach. However, we had many issues with the house that future renters should know. FIRST: it was NOT clean, even though the cleaner had been on site that day. There were cobwebs & dead bugs everywhere, food remnants in the spare bedroom, the corner by the couch was disgusting, the garage/entertaining area & mini-fridge were not clean & there was food under the table. The cleaner had taken all the dirty linens, but had not brought any replacements towels leaving ONE hand towel for our stay. SECOND: the smoke detectors went off our first night from 11:35 pm to 9:20 am from 1-5 times an hour with a siren & female voice screaming “FIRE! FIRE!” We checked the “book” on property and it provided no contact information in case of an emergency (Julie has now corrected this), the Wi-Fi information was incorrect, and our cell phones were roaming with no service. We were exhausted and tried everything to make them stop. We would fall asleep hoping it was done going off only to be woke again with another round of sirens. I was finally able to contact Julie the next morning through my husband’s work phone to have her come & fix the detectors. THIRD: was maintenance issues – obviously the smoke alarms are number one (batteries should be replaced on a regular basis), the kitchen faucet had a steady flow unless you played with turning it off, the bunk bed rail was very loose, the dryer does NOT dry (we ran our first load for 6 cycles then my husband removed a bird's nest from the dryer vent, after that we still had to run it almost 4 hours to get clothes dried). FINALLY: Neither the property manager Julie nor the owner Joyce were familiar with Vrbo policy on Service Animals. When my daughter-in-law surprised us on property with her licensed service dog, we were yelled at that the service animal had to leave the property. (Their contract allows for day visitors and Vrbo policy is very clear on service animals – I wasn't breaking any rules allowing my daughter from CA to visit us). Even after I provided Julie with the Vrbo policy she threatened to cancel my reservation and force me to leave the property if the service dog returned. All in all, a large chunk of my vacation was consumed with problems and issues with this rental. Both Julie and Joyce were unprofessional and rude in dealing with the service animal. Future renters: BEWARE!

Myself and 5 of my girls friends rented Julie’s house for the weekend! The house was perfect and exactly as described. Juile was very easy to communicate with and answered any and all questions quickly! We enjoyed the lake daily and followed her recommendation to enjoy some great food & cheap drinks at Smokey’s! We will be back!

Nice location, very peaceful.
Last minute booking, long weekend away. Nice location and very quiet. Disappointed about the kayaks and the grill, everything else was as it was promised. Plenty of firewood available and great views of the lake. Great pizza place ten minutes away. If you take your own boat there is a nice dock. All in all, I would recommend this cabin for couples and small families as a nice place to spend a short break or long weekend.

A great space, sweetly acquainted- charming!!
Just a great space for our family off five to get away. Excellent location on the lake. Very nice docks. Lots of yard space where we enjoyed a fire, football & volleyball. Couch is very comfortable. If cooking, you will need to bring your own spices as might be expected. Julie was great to work with. We would love to come back in the summer to kayak!

Just like it was listed!
Julie was great to work with. All communication was clear & precise. Very nice location, it was hard to find, but Julie had already identified that prior to arriving. We had 6 people which was a little much for just one bathroom, but all items worked well and the garage entrance was great to just hang out in and load/unload anything that was needed. The place will need some updates in the future, but it was, as I stated, exactly how it was listed!

Great getaway
This was a great little house on the lake. Smaller but so cozy! If you are a couple or a couple with a few kids, this is prefect!!! Julie was great at getting right back to me when I had questions and through out the entire process! This is a newer rental I think. I would offer the suggestion of a few bigger skillets and pans for cooking. We made a full breakfast and could have used more pans but we made it work no problems. Also, some pepper would have been awesome. Lots of Amish stores around and a quick drive to several towns around and the bar and grill on the lake was very nice, clean and fun! There is a house that overlooks the area where the drive and firepit are, so just be aware of a little lack of privacy. We had no issue with this but some people may want more privacy. On a lake like this that is to be expected. All the towns and houses around were so clean and everyone was so friendly. We tried a little fishing off the dock but it was very cold and we didn't have much luck. The TV had several channels but no cable as is stated, but for us this was no problem. Wish the weather would have cooperated and we could have used the picnic table, chairs and firepit but we did grill. There is a very nice grill! Overall, I would highly recommend this place and we would come back!!! Thanks so much for a wonderful getaway!!!
