"great stay, nice hotel and room"

"We stayed 2 nights at the Derwentwater Hotel. It’s a bit of a quaint traditional English hotel. They seem to have a new and more modern wing and the original bits as we had 2 rooms and one looked a lot newer than the other. We would highly recommend getting the package with dinner as you get a 3-course dinner, which is great value and not to mention delicious. Breakfast is a full buffet spread which was great too! Sheets were clean and good water pressure for the shower. There’s also a nice little bar, and some board/card games in the conservatory. Parking at the back of the hotel is £5 per night though. "

"Really special and charming hotel. We didn’t know Keswick was such a destination for dog owners, and our only criticism of the Royal Oak was that is actually smelled like a dirty dog. It wasn’t bad enough to lessen the experience, but it wasn’t subtle. "

"Fantastic stay at this lovely family ran B&B. Check in was a breeze and communicated clearly via email. Plenty of parking on site and a short 2 minute walk to the local village pub which did home cooked meals. Clean well equipped room with a very comfy bed. Pre order breakfast the evening before via booking slip at reception. Breakfast the following day was freshly cooked and served by a friendly and efficient member of the team. Well worth a stop over if you’re in the lakes and fancy a night or two getaway but still close enough to exploring the local area including Keswick. "
