I think one has to get lucky with timing when staying here. In our case, bad weather, competitive surfing-oriented other guests, and some kind of GI virus or food poisoning (apparently some folks in the local village were sick, so maybe this was getting transmitted to guests? About one in three seemed to get sick for a half day or day) overlapped such that we had a mediocre stay. I think if circumstances had aligned differently, we might have had a delightful time. As it was, we managed one surf trip and zero snorkeling in three days. The resort is 3km down a semi-paved road that is passable but far enough afield that we weren’t inclined to leave. So I suggest budgeting to eat and do all your activities (if weather permits) there. For what it’s worth, the food was delicious (and we’re not sure whether it was the food or the ocean water quality after a rainstorm that made my partner sick).
