The property has amazing view of the valley and tea estates, a waterfall within walking distance. The only downside is that it is away from the Munnar town so you need to travel 10-12 kms to reach the town which adds 1.5 hours of travel to your sightseeing. The staff are super friendly and very nice, food is prepared to your order and is tasty.

We fealt cheated by booking on line .
Not a place for enjoying holidays.
Approch is very dengerous after evening
Booking . Com should not deal with such properties
The stay, me and my wife had was just awesome! The room was nice and the surroundings made us feel very close to nature. The food was amazing and made us feel at home. A lovely and memorable experience!
The approach road is not very good and without proper directions it can be daunting if u are driving at night. However once u reach the place, its beautiful, serene and green. There's a waterfall at walking distance and tea estate opposite the resort. Bird watching is another option. wild elephants maybe hard to chance upon.the pool is not very comfortable but then this is one of the few hotels which offers a pool. I thought it was a bit overpriced but no complaints regarding the comfy unique styled eco-friendly rooms. The restaurant is basic but clean.
Wild elephant has a perfect location, it's in the middle of the mountains, very quiet and fresh, 20 km far from Munnar, the view is breath-taking. The swimming pool in the middle of a very pretty exotic garden is nice and refreshing. The staff is very kind.
It is little far around 23 KM from Munnar, and some places road is not good. going through forest area and not allowed to go after 7pm due to Wild Elephant. another road is also available through tea garden but more turning road.
Resorts location and view was really beautiful. it was well maintained, room was also nicely maintained. Food was good at reasonable rate but having limited options. I think if you tell in advance that what you want to eat then you will get it.
weather is little cool compare to munnar.
bonfire option is also available but you need to tell in advance to arrange wood.
one side of resorts having forest and hill view and backside is tea garden. once you go there then no need to go anywhere.
We arrived at about 5pm having booked but they said they had no record of the booking. It needed a phone call to the manager to get us a room. We were told the manager would arrive at 6pm. Then we were told he would arrive at 8pm. By then it was too late to go anywhere else. He eventually arrived in the morning at Breakfast time. This was 8am THE only time they would serve breakfast.
Dinner was poor and only srved at 8pm.
The hotel has no wifi so no internet.
The website when we booked said only 1 room remaining but we were the only people in the hotel.
The pool is nice and the surroundings beatiful but acces is via a long awful road. Took us an hour to cover 20KM. There are no other facilities at all in the area so you cannot go elsewhere to eat.
The stay was pathetic.firstly, there is no signage on the way and the way was thru jungle(15-20 km). Room size was very small. Curtains and bedsheets were very dirty.. Had blood spots on them. No phone in the room. We had to go personally for everything. No phone connectivity. No Hindi or English channels. We were not even provided towels.food was terrible.. No corn flex, milk, eggs available in the breakfast which was supposed to be a buffet. Dosa batter got over during breakfast timing. What we had in the breakfast was bread and jam..staff was bad..Even the manager was rude & non-cooperative. I can provide u the pictures as well in case required. We were told to pay for dinner which we never had. Finally They enquired from our kid.. Even then they were not ready to accept their mistake. The overall experience was pathetic. Will not recommend to anyone. Dharamshalas are better than this so called resort,

Needs Overall Improvement
Improvement in service is must. No room amenities were available. Rigorous follow up was required. As compared to the current status, cost is unnecessarily high.

Great hotel, good views
We stayed for 2 nights and would recommend it.. No complaints.. Location was good
It will not take a second to forget all the bad roads to get to this place once you reach. Waterfalls, Wildlife, Birds just ring you into the vacation mood. Both the owner and the staff were very kind. Inspite of the cold and damp weather, Could not resist swimming in the pool overlooking the distant hills and nothing in between. Will visit again for sure!!!

Quiet and interesting...
This is no 5 star resort. It is remote but an experience worth having once as a tourist to India. We were given a room which was a higher standard than what we paid for. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was a futon mattress. Uncomfortable for us, although I slept surprisingly well on it. Unfortunately the hot water did not work in our shower so a warm bucket shower was experienced. My husband chose the invigorating cold water shower. Our friends in a different room had plenty of hot water though. And a more comfortable mattress. But paper thin walls to the next room. Food served here is fairly ordinary, but as you are at least an hour from Munnar by the bad roads, it makes do. Breakfast was slightly better. The pool is more fir decoration. Needed a good clean and some chemicals to balance the water. Lovely hammocks in the garden. It is really peaceful out here, although the rooms not in the main house are a bit close to the road. But not much traffic here!
I must say that though Munnar was obviously a wrong vacation choice for me at this time of the year owing to the bad roads, unplanned road works, flying dust , chaotic traffic jams and tourist overload the resort made up for most of it owing to it's distance from the town and wonderful location.
____________
The location :
____________
The resort is located 24 kms before Munnar and you need to take a left at a place called Kallar junction when travelling to Munnar on NH49.You need to travel another 9 kms on this road before reaching the resort. There is another beautiful but narrow road starting opposite the Munnar KSRTC bus stand through which you can reach the resort, but it is best to avoid this if night is approaching as it is quite desolate and yes - there are wild elephants on the rampage.
The Positives :
The surroundings are beautiful. You can laze away the day in the surrounding tea estates or take a small 1 km hike to the small but beautiful waterfall nearby. The brook accompanying the water fall can make for a good trek for those so inclined.
The Negatives:
You guessed it - Reaching Munnar itself can take upto an hour depending on the condition of the road and from there you again need to travel a long distance to reach popular tourist destinations like Top Station(35 kms from Munnar) , Madupetty dam/lake etc. This essentially means that if you do not have an early start you are not going to spend much time at these places.

Nestled in nature, far from Munnar town
Wild Elephant eco-friendly resort is very much nestled in nature and is almost 23 km from Munnar town. The google maps show the distance to be 12 km which was a source of frustration for us when we were searching for the hotel on Day 1. However, after the initial hiccup, it was pleasure all the way. Hotel staff are courteous and service is quite personalized. There are couple of good waterfalls close by and there is an alternative, less used route to Munnar that is full of rolling tea gardens - what a beauty. I highly recommend a walk or two-wheeler ride along that way in morning (7-9 AM). Also a heaven for photography. Overall, very satisfied with the hotel. One can easily spend 3-4 days there and perhaps go to Munnar for usual sightseeing for one day.
The resort location is in remote area.
The transport connectivity is very less unless you planned well before.
No mobile phone signal available.
Service is also not good. We reached the resorts by 12:30pm, we waited around one and half hour to check into the room.
In second day, the mud water is coming from the tap in bath room, if we informed to service person there is no much response from him.
The best stay till date in Munnar. I've stayed with few other properties in Munnar, but never felt so homely i've been with Wild elephant resort. Overwhelmed and amazed right from the greeting (with name) by the hotel manager Mr.Anil, continued with their hospitality thru out the stay. It was a pleasant experience with all members of my family and happy to make a couple of friends during my stay in this resort.
