Beautiful location near the sea. But mind you, the coffee machine isnt free as I was told AFTER I had an espresso. I travel all over Europe & the UK and never have I had to pay for a coffee from a machine. At least tell me before I drink it, not after. I paid to stay in this hotel, bought drinks from the bar and you treat me like a freeloader?

Excellent Hotel
Hotel was excellent value for the price. Staff spoke english, which really helped as my french is very rusty. Beds were comfy, shower was powerful. Location was excellent, right on the beach front, with plenty of parking out front. Only 10 mins drive away from the ferry port. Only a short 5 min walk to the main town for restaurants, but breakfast was offered. Unfortunately we could not sample breakfast as we had to leave very early for our ferry home. Reception staff were available 24/7. Cannot thank the hotel enough. Definitely want to come back in the summer to enjoy the area more.

All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, but particularly Antoine who was on reception when we arrived. The hotel and rooms are very clean, the bed extremely comfortable, always hot water and good pressure despite being on the 4th floor. It is very conveniently located. We could even leave our luggage after we checked out of our room before catching the lunchtime ferry back to the UK. Definitely excellent value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de la Plage. Our family room was spacious enough, of a little dated. The reception area is pleasant and the jars of sweets for children went down well with our kids. I’ve not given five stars purely because of a rule that stipulated that room keys need to be left at reception when you leave the hotel. Generally the reception was staffed by one member of staff. If they were on the phone or away from the desk we’d be left stranded in reception waiting to hand in our key or retrieve it. Perhaps this isn’t a big deal for some, but with two small children waiting five minutes at the end of a day when everyone is hot, tired and hungry wasn’t pleasant!

Simple, friendly hotel with very nice communal areas (gym is v basic but I don't think you'd select this hotel for the gym). Our room didn't have Aircon, but it wasn't too warm at night and the windows opened onto a quiet inner courtyard, so wasn't an issue.

The hotel is appealing for the price and in a good location. Staff were helpful, but it was so noisy - my bed creaked to the point that I woke up whenever I moved and every time a door closed I jumped. Wasn’t a great nights sleep despite the comfy mattress.

Nice hotel let down by noisy rooms
The hotel is lovely and the staff on reception are very competent and friendly. Check in was great and the room was nice. We had an issue with dogs barking in the next room (which they hadn’t booked to have the dogs with them so weren’t in a pet friendly room) and staff couldn’t do anything about it. The transfer of noise from the room upstairs was awful. They sounded like they were moving house and it carried on for 3 hours. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the breakfast was €14 per person which is a lot for coffee and a croissant. Nice hotel but awful sleep/rest.

Friendly, helpful hotel. Very convenient for beach and town centre. Easy to store our bikes. Good breakfast. If you stay for 2 or more nights, you can have a free drink instead of having your room cleaned. Lots of pleasant seating areas in the lobby. Our third stay here.
