Bledsoe’s River Inn. Cottage in the heart of wine country near Mtns. & Mayberry

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just 18 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy 24 acres of private property located on the Fisher River where you can enjoy all types of fishing, kayaking, hiking, and swimming! A short drive will take you to many award winning wineries and to downtown Mt. Airy, also known as Mayberry. Also, a 30 minute drive will take you to Stone Mountain State Park or to the beautiful Pilot Mountain State Park for endless views and hiking. Welcome!!
The space
Cottage is decorated with period 1800-1850 antiques including 2 converted rope beds (one in each bedroom) and one original rope bed in the sleeping loft! So travel back in time and enjoy for a little while!

Relax on the back porch with a book, work on your laptop, or watch a movie on the second tv.

Sitting on the back patio you can view the cows grazing just past the barn and enjoy the fire pit just outside the pack door. Beyond that is the river.
Guest access
Cottage is located approximately 250 yards from the river. We invite you to bring your all terrain vehicles, golf carts, or you are welcome to drive your vehicle or walk through the cow pasture (with the friendly cows and no bull) to the river.
Other things to note
The 5th bed is a genuine circa 1800’s rope bed with a feather tic. This is only comfortable for one person but two can actually sleep on it. There is also two twin beds located in loft space.

Office space can be utilized on the enclosed back porch. There is a drop leaf table that can be pulled up for your convenience with a couple of different size chairs to choose.

Please bring your own fishing gear. No pets please!

Amazing hosts!
What a truly exceptional experience! The hosts were simply amazing - warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The amenities were fabulous, from the well-appointed accommodation to the peaceful and private setting that offered a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The highlight was definitely the opportunity to go kayaking on the serene nearby river, allowing us to connect with nature and relax. Additionally, having vineyards and wineries in close proximity was a delightful treat for wine enthusiasts like us. Exploring the local flavors made our trip even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the snacks provided were a wonderful surprise and added an extra touch of thoughtfulness to our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind and create lasting memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a tranquil retreat with wonderful hosts and incredible amenities!

Clean and Cozy
House was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed the walk to the river so much! Host was super quick to respond to questions. Would note that the upstairs bedroom ceiling is a bit low and wouldnt work for people over 6' tall. Only a consideration when traveling with 3 couples.

Wonderful! Will be back!!
This house and property are so cozy! It was extremely cold during our stay so we enjoyed cozying up in front of the fireplace and relaxing. We took a walk down to the river which I can imagine is sooo much fun in the warm weather. We definitely plan to return!!

Wonderful Stay
Our family of 7 had a great stay at the cottage. We explored out of doors- the woods, the cows, rock skipping at the river- and made the most of the cozy home- games, pancakes, birthday meal, fireside tv watching. Alison gave us great food recommendations. Groceries, town and restaurants are all close. We hope to be back!

Perfectly located for visiting local wineries in Yadkin Valley. Easy access to Dobson and Elkin. Charming house. Only downside is only one full bath, but 1/2 bath off kitchen is nice.

Charming cottage
The cottage was very charming. We enjoyed the views of cows and babies in the pasture and was able to experience seeing a newly born calf. The walk through the pasture was beautiful in the morning and took you to a gorgeous spot on the Fisher River. Our boys, 14 and 12 enjoyed fishing and swimming. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Wonderful week away
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! It was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and peaceful. The owners were very welcoming, and made sure we had all we needed. We were looking for some time away as a family to relax and spend some quality time together, and that’s exactly what we got! The surroundings are beautiful, from the cows, to the river, and the beautiful yard. We enjoyed sitting outside at night under the lights, and around the fire pit. All we were hoping for and more!

Home away from home
Our stay was very quiet and peaceful. The property comfortably accommodated us. We enjoyed the nights outside by the fire pit and cooking out on the grill. Check in was very easy and the owner met me at the property to give me a walk thru. Check out was easy and painless. Owner was available by phone during our whole stay and even texted to check in to see if we needed anything. The inside and outside of the property was very well maintained.

Open space!
We enjoyed the open outdoor space, the back sunroom for bird watching, and walking through a field of docile cows to get down to the river. This house is 35 minutes to Stone Mountain, 20 minutes to Pilot Mountain, 7 minutes to a grocery store and a pizza restaurant. The hosts were very responsive and eager to make our stay enjoyable!
