Friendly staff but the hotel is comparable to the cheapest motels in the US. Rooms we stayed were smelly, decor was gaudy, carpet seemed multi decades old, and bathroom looked rundown. I would not complain if it costed $30-40 per room per night as you get what you paid for. But for close to $200/night per room, I would expect something similar what is considered a 3 star hotels in the US. Do not recommend this place.

AVOID AVOID AVOID I booked 8 nights at this hotel. I arrived one day late due to delayed flight, and after spending one night I decided I can’t stay. The place is not clean and the room was old and the smell was bad. There was no wifi coverage except in a small corner of the room and it was weak and inconsistent. I went to management and asked them for an early check out. I requested that they refund me half of my stay (4 nights out of 8) despite the fact that I had the room for only 2. They refused at first and only pretended to accept (see below) after a long discussion and making my case regarding how poor the facility is compared to what’s advertised. They said that I should contact expedia to request early check out and that they’ll accept the request when they receive it from expedia. I did contact Expedia, and a couple of days later I received an email from them saying the hotel rejected the request of early check out. So this hotel is overpriced, not clean, outdated, and above all has a management that has no issue with lying to customers to their face. You can do much better for the same price elsewhere. Avoid this place.

While the location of Golden Ocean Hotel is convenient, the overall experience left much to be desired. The rooms were dated and in need of renovation, with worn-out furnishings and a musty smell. Additionally, the noise from neighboring rooms and the street outside made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The amenities were lacking, and the staff seemed disinterested in addressing guests' concerns. Overall, the hotel fell short of expectations and did not provide a satisfactory experience.

When I arrived, the staff was friendly and even bumped me up to a bigger room. The room, however, had a stale odor. Looking around, I found that there was mould throughout - especially in the washroom. In fact, the washroom ceiling was cracked and looked like it was ready to collapse, and you could clearly see the mould all over. Will not stay there again.
