The Wicket is a delightful holiday home nestling in the beautiful Alkham valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just 15 minutes from the coast and 25 minutes from the historic City of Canterbury, and surrounded by miles of countryside footpaths, this charming house has everything you could ask for a fabulous family holiday, and an ideal touring base for walkers, cyclists, golfers and general explorers!
The true highlight of the house is the garden which has been lovingly tended by the owner and is full of fruit trees, shrubs and flowering plants offering year-round beauty. The garden is large and fully enclosed so perfect for visiting dogs. There are winding paths leading to the different parts of the garden, a pretty summerhouse, and two patios, one with dining table and chairs and the other with sofas and a firepit for relaxing.
Another highlight is the large sitting room, which has a cosy Autumn/Winter section with rich, warm colours and an open fireplace and then the Spring/Summer section, furnished in light colours, overlooking the lovely garden and with French doors onto the patio.
The house is a short stroll to the Marquis of Granby, a 200 year old pub serving food and drink, and the house also overlooks a large green and play park so ideal for children and for exercising the family dog.

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages to our beautiful holiday home. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please note quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Please be respectful to neighbours.
Parties and loud music are not permitted.
