Summary:
Gorgeous Renovation of a 1920's Instagram-worthy Craftsman in the urban Cleveland-Holloway neighborhood. Brand new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, salvaged wood open shelving and beautiful granite counters. GREAT location! Walk/Lyft to all that makes Durham Durm: Motorco, Fullsteam, Ponysauraus, Rue Cler, DPAC, etc.!
The Space:
The luxurious designer leather couch in the living room is the perfect place to relax and watch your favorite show on the Smart TV. The Kitchen has everything you need to make an exceptional meal and plate it up beautifully. There is an eat-in table for 4 for more formal meals, which also doubles as a work space.
The unit is equipped with washer dryer and a laundry/utility closet with cleaning supplies. We use Free & Clear Unscented laundry detergent on bedding and towels so our guests with sensitivities to perfumed products can breath easy. The bath has a full tub/shower, and granite vanity. The bedroom has a plush queen bed, and is filled with natural light (but has blackout curtains too). From the bedroom you can access a lush fully-fenced courtyard with a bistro table, cafe lights, surrounded by trees and an historic stone wall. A gate from the courtyard also leads to your off-street parking area for a compact vehicle (or unloading).
We have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, your Amazon or Hulu account, and many other apps. We Cut the Cord on Cable, but offer YouTubeTV which functions similarly to Cable and offers tons of Live or On Demand Options!
Guest Access:
The front and back door have a keypad so you can arrive when convenient and come and go as you please.
The Neighborhood:
The Cleveland Holloway neighborhood has been dubbed "Durham's Front Porch" with good reason. It's a diverse, historic neighborhood with easy access to walk, bike or Lyft downtown, to the library & Central Park. This is an urban neighborhood and as such has foot traffic and mixed income neighbors.
Getting Around:
This house has easy access to I-85, NC-147 etc. Uber and Lyft are common in Durham so no worries if you don't have a car! There are also plenty of bus routes, and the neighborhood is walkable to downtown if you prefer.
Other Things to Note:
This is one half of a historic Duplex. As such, we request that guests on both sides of the duplex be respectful with regard to noise, especially before 8am and after 9pm.
Interaction with Guests:
We want you to be able to settle into this home as if it was your own. We'll stay out of your way, but we're just a quick message away if you have questions about restaurants, events or the house, or if an unexpected issue arises.
We are happy to answer questions that you may have! Whether it's a hankering for a local cider, a sudden urge for a new haircut or a desperate need for a donut, we are happy to help you find the closest and best place to make that happen.
