The area around the hotel remains challenging being run down, dirty and numerous homeless people. The hotel itself is lovely with great facilities. Sadly the policy of no tipping being allowed has now been dropped.

Staying at the Los Angeles Athletic Club for the first time was a delightful experience. The hotel exudes an *old-school charm* that makes you feel as though you've stepped back in time about thirty years, yet it remains impeccably clean and updated. This unique blend of vintage ambiance and modern comfort creates a welcoming and nostalgic atmosphere. The location of the club is incredibly convenient, with easy access to a variety of shops and restaurants. While some areas outside the club can feel a bit sketchy due to the presence of the homeless population, the overall environment felt safe and secure. One of the standout features of our stay was the access to the club's excellent amenities. The gym facilities are top-notch, providing everything you need for a great workout. Additionally, the spa offers a relaxing retreat, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The restaurant and lounge area on the third floor is another highlight, offering a comfortable space to enjoy meals and socialize. Overall, our experience at the Los Angeles Athletic Club was fantastic. The combination of its historic charm, convenient location, and excellent amenities made our stay memorable. We would absolutely choose to stay here again in the future.

What a fabulous find! The staff is amazing and the property will make you feel spoiled. The only complaint is the pillow was too soft. And, the breakfast was amazing!

It’s a hidden gem. Outside you’d never suspect all the wonderful self care options it offers. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I’d recommend and definitely return. Don’t let the outside deter you.
