The hotel had beautiful gardens around it. Very clean and well maintained. Staff was very polite and accommodating. If you don’t speak Spanish, their English was excellent. They will arrange bookings, tours and taxis for you. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location for activities, clean room - but area is loud with motorcycles and music at night.
We spent a total of 3 nights at this property. 2 nights before an overnight stay at Corcovado, and 1 night after. They held our excess gear while we were in the park. Reception spoke perfect English and helped organize transport to and from Drake Bay. The rooms were clean. The top floor rooms had excellent bird watching views. Breakfast was excellent.
My wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at Jacamar. Very clean and great service. I highly recommend Jacamar for travelers wanting to use Drake Bay as their base for going to Corcovado.
We enjoyed our one-night stay at Jacamar before heading out for Corcovado. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely balcony and nice deck chairs. Breakfast was fine if overpriced.
The one thing we didn't like was the luggage storage service. We asked in advance whether we could store our luggage there while we were camping in Corcovado and we were told that was no problem and that it could be kept in the office. What we didn’t realize is that it would be left out in the open reception, which is unlocked all the time and unattended except from 12-6 pm. When we came back from Corcovado we were able to just walk in and grab our stuff (which anyone else could also have done). We didn’t leave valuables there, of course, but it was still an unpleasant surprise. If luggage storage is offered, then there should be a locked room for it.
Otherwise, it’s a nice hotel and I would stay there again if visiting Drake Bay.
This is a great place to stay in Drake Bay! Everything was great..the bed, shower, balcony, location, & service!! I stayed in 10 places all over CR, and this was the best place, and very good price! I totally would recommend!!!
My family and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Jacamar. The room was very nice, spacious clean and comfortable. What made the stay fabulous was the young man who worked at the hotel. Leo took care of us and went above and beyond to make us comfortable and feel special. He procured mango and avocado for breakfast when we mentioned that we liked it, asked around at neighboring restaurants if they could make a pizza for my sister, took us to the beach at 6 am to meet our guides for the Corcovado trip and met us on the beach afterwards with our luggage so we wouldn’t have to walk back to the hotel after the excursion to pick up our baggage for our departure. Drake Bay is magical and the service at Jacamar that Leo gave my family and I was impeccable.
Loved the room and large bathroom with walk-in shower, but hot water did not last very long. AC a bit draughty for sleeping, needs a lower fan speed setting. Balcony overlooks a small but lush valley with lots of birdlife, but you can't see the sea from here. Disco at Ficus Bar across the valley very noisy up till 2am, which is bad news when getting up at 5am for 6am tour departures. Breakfasts excellent, with several choices, ordered the night before. Nearby Bahia Azul restaurant looks basic, but excellent food. Bottled water is C1000 for 2L from nearby supermarket.
The property was spotless, very well maintained, and beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. Gardens are gorgeous. Air conditioning works great, and is much appreciated at the end of the day. This is not an accessible property-- stairs up and down to get to the room. What looks like a short walk to the beach on the map involves a fairly strenuous hike uphill. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot breakfast included. Staff was extremely helpful in arranging transportation and tours. This was an excellent choice for travelers who want something in between the budget room or hostel and the all-inclusive luxury resort.
Our stay here was one night, on our way to Osa National Park. Hotel was wonderful, clean and the owner was very helpful trying to contact the tour group that we arranged prior to the trip. Owner met us with his SUV at the beach after we got off the boat from Sierrpe. The drive was very short, walking distance is about 5- 10 minutes but with luggage going uphill would have been unpleasant so we really appreciated it. Room was clean and comfortable but the it's close to the street that's noisy with cars and motorbikes going by. Everything get pretty quiet after 10 though.
This property is 1 block away from downtown (2 minute walk) and about a 5ish minute walk from the beach. The staff was great, the rooms extremely spacious, clean, recently renovated and have air conditioning. I would consider staying here again.
I liked that the hotel is fairly new and the room and balcony were quite large and had a mini fridge and t.v. I didnt like that they don't have someone at the front desk 24 hours.

This property is in a good central location in Agujitas however it is located right across the canyon from a bar/restaurant/nightclub that can get quite noisy at night. It will be a problem for anyone who is a light sleeper.
