Dripping Springs | Tipi | Nightly Rental | Sleeps 2 | Shared Bathrooms
Welcome to our little corner of the Hill Country! OESTE is an 11-acre campground-like property home to 9 Sioux-style Native American Tipis, a tiny A-frame cabin, and a Texas farmhouse. The tipis make the perfect place for camping in comfort. Located just 45 minutes west of Austin, in Dripping Springs, TX.
*Please read the entire listing prior to booking.
We are located off the beaten path (Literally. The road down is not for the faint of heart). The Native American Tipi provides a passageway back through time that allows us to experience some aspects of this unique nomadic culture of the Great Plains. Oeste is a place to surround yourself with nature while not having to sacrifice the basic modern amenities such as toilets, showers, and a space to cook up a meal. We aim to provide an unpretentious space for you to relax and enjoy. Over the past couple of years, we've worked to share our interest, enthusiasm, and respect for this magnificent shelter and the Native American cultures of the Great Plains who created it.
Each tipi is a separate listing (we have 9 tipis total). All of the tipis feature a bed, fresh linens, side tables, a large cowhide rug, a heating blanket (winter months), lighting, a seating area, 20-inch fan. We provide a couple of complimentary waters and coffee pods and coffee makers at the overlook. Some tipis have portable AC units but please do not expect the open ai tipi to cool like a standard insulated structure. Please be mindful of the weather, we can edit your reservation if you are worried about inclement weather but will not do so if your reservation is past the time/day you are set up to check-in.
El Arbol has a king bed and can sleep two people. If you would like another king bed, visit our listings El Arbol, El Mundo, or La Rosa. If you need a tipi that sleeps three check out El Sol or El Nopal. All other tipis have queen beds.
El Arbol is equipped with a fan (NO AC)
In our Campground, you will find some communal amenities like a Bathhouse with running water toilets and showers. Overlook, our outdoor kitchen, lounge, and bar hangout area. Complete with all the basic cooking utensils, pots/pans, burners, and a fridge.
Pack your swimsuit and beach towel. The pool is crisp, cool, and ready for you! The 27-foot round pool is 52 inches deep. This cool pool really helps guests cool down in the hot Texas summers (The pool decks are still under development so please use the temporary pool ladder for access).
We aren't a "glamping" type of campground and we do not strive to be. We do believe in comfort but this experience is not "glam". If you require lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you.
There is no cell phone reception at Oeste; however, we have limited WIFI near the bathrooms for the tipis. This remote location uses satellite WIFI which is less reliable than wired WIFI.
