This light-filled and airy cabin, Red Pines Lodge, radiates hospitality and comfort, and is the essence of 'roughing it in style'. The cabin is situated in a beautiful forest of tall Ponderosa pines, firs, and aspens, just a mile from the heart of Duck Creek Village. Outside you’ll appreciate the rustic log construction, and plenty of parking. The enormous wrap-around covered deck features a gas grill, dining for 6, and seating for all to enjoy the cool breezes, glimpses of the Pink Cliffs, or morning coffee while watching the sun rise. In the evening, sit around the backyard firepit on log benches, and make s'mores and memories under the stars.
Inside, you’ll love the tongue and groove knotty pine walls throughout the house, as well as the columns and railings made from native aspen. Cathedral windows bathe the Great Room in light. Here you can enjoy a cozy fire in the wood stove that sits on its stone hearth, while you relax with a book, TV, or surround-sound music. Also on the Main Level you’ll find the out-sized and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, and a gas range for the gourmet cook; the Dining area with seating for 6-8. There a pretty guest bedroom, the Aspen Room, with a queen bed and private door onto the deck. And a and a full bath rounds out the layout of the main level of the cabin.
On the upper level is the huge Master Suite, with its very large en suite bath including a tiled jetted tub, and a separate shower. Toilet and sink too, of course!
Also on the upper level a pretty loft area (which makes a great extra bedroom with the inflatable bed) overlooking the Great Room. There's also a desk/work area set up in case you need to use your laptop.
On the bottom level is a large and comfy Family Room with tv and lots of seating, and access to the outside patio area. Also on this lower level is the third bedroom (the Buckaroo Room) with two twin beds; a full bath; and the laundry room with washer and dryer.
This cabin can sleep 10 people, using the two queen bedrooms, two twin beds, a queen sofa sleeper in both the Great Room and the downstairs family room. Two additional are possible using a comfortable queen-size inflatable bed that can go anywhere (although we recommend this for children rather than adults). Any occupancy over 8, however, must be approved by the owner prior to rental. Official maximum occupancy is 8, including all children. With three full baths, one on each level of the cabin, there is plenty of access for all. Red Pines Lodge is perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends.
Also note: We have a limit on the number of vehicles which can be on the property. The vehicle limit is 3, with any trailer counting as a vehicle. You may not park a vehicle on any other property without that property owner's permission.
The cabin sits on a level, forested lot, with easy year-round access. National Forest land is only a couple of hundred yards away, and ATV and snowmobile trails are right at hand. Hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and a myriad of other outdoor activities are all in close proximity as well. Duck Creek and the surrounding area are truly a natural outdoor paradise.
We do not rent to “house parties” or unruly groups. We welcome those who will respect our cabin, and the natural environment of Cedar Mountain.
