Convenient for the ferry
Very convenient for the ferry so suited us well. It is what it is, a good overnight stopover. But could be so much better with a bit more TLC. The hotels sign is half missing which sums it up. Good welcome from reception. Bedroom with missing lampshade and some black on the ceiling in the bathroom would be so easy to rectify. But good price for the room.

Location from the ferry/eurotunnel is pretty good. Ample parking. Other than that it is pretty average and sometimes just poor. Room smelled of smoke, bed rock hard, very small. We arrived late (on the plus side, they did wait for us to arrive) so as soon as we had checked in any personnel just booted out there so it wasn't possible to ask them to change rooms, not nice with small kids. It was fine for a single night but would hate have to stay here more nights.

A place in Calais
On arrival, we found the lounge dirty looking with lounge chairs appears to have been beaten by dogs. We decline to check in until 2pm. Rooms unexplained filthy carpet; the smell of cigarettes; and damp air. Broken stairs case, carpet We paid for breakfast, we later changed our mind for a refund the hotel manager refused to give us our refund. Closed down for some TLC

Final visit
Stayed here a few times. The last two times we can see the hotel being run down with no signs of maintenance. In the family rooms the kitchen has less working equipment each visit, this time one room had no oven or microwave, the other room had a microwave, but it didn’t work. The shutter on one room was broken in the closed position so could not open any windows. It is a shame to see a well positioned hotel deteriorate.

Considering the cheap price this is an excellent hotel for an overnight stop to sleep. The building is a bit aged and worn but clean, the staff are very friendly and try to please you and the breakfast is excellent.

It is extremely tatty. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip. The toilet was broken in the first room, the bedside shelf was missing and the lamp didn't work. Coming back, the bedside shelf was again missing (different room) the sink was cracked and the shower was broken!

Convenient for one stay
Hotel is very tired looking and the rooms tiny but perfectly adequate for a one night stopover before or after ferry crossing. Within minutes of car ferry. Bed linen was very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and the continental breakfast was excellent for the price

Dunkirk stopover
I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions (4th - or maybe even 5th?). I stay there because it's handy for the ferry and it's an ok hotel for a very reasonable price. If I am stopping then I tend to stay in the Kyriad because it's nicer than the cheaper places I have tried. As I said, ok hotel for reasonable price.

Better Hotels in Basrah
One night stop before the ferry home, and we should have realised when only half the ho___ sign was lit, the car park was in darkness and people were sitting in their cars, rather than their rooms. The check in was clean enough, and the receptionist pleasant with good English.... Better than our French, anyway. but the carpet got stickier and the corridor darker by the time we got to the room. Stank of smoke, yellow smoke stained paintwork and the heavy door to the ajoining room was leaned against the wall at a jaunty angle, completely off it's hinges. I complained to the receptionist, who then forgot all her English and said she would get her boss. Well after eating at the Poivre Rouge next door, which itself was lovely and thoroughly recommended, no boss had appeared and we retired to our hovel too tired to care. If you have a shower, please don't put the light on..... It gets worse.....
