My Durango Stay
Was told when we checked in there would be no cleaning service due to staff shortage. Ask that they at least change towels and make bed which they happily did. Room on the small side but acceptable.

Room hasn’t been updated in years. Phone was old and dirty. Room heater made horrible noises so I had to turn it off. Told the front desk about the heater. They said they fixed it but didn’t. Won’t ever stay here again.

$300 cash deposit?
I was required to pay a $300 down payment, which they would only accept in cash. I was worried that I was getting hustled, especially when after coming back from the ATM to give them the deposit they had no way to give me a receipt. I was busy and so I took the chance, and they did give me my deposit back in the morning. But seriously ridiculous. I won’t stay there again if I have another option. Sad, because it used to be a great hotel.

We would have not stayed here had we realized how sketchy it was and how gross the rooms were. Upon check in we were told “locals” were required to put down a $500 cash deposit - we were staying the night from pagosa springs (an hour away) for a special holiday event we were participating in last minute - after refusing to do that since we already. Poked and payed online we proceeded to our room. Saw some sketchy individuals who appeared to be living here. Not a great place to stay with two small kids

This hotel is something of a scam. You have to provide 300 dollars in cash to actually check in. Yet the app or the hotel doesn’t make this clear. Once you’ve paid on the app there’s no way to get a refund if you show up without the 300 cash. A soft scam.
