Disliked: Amenities
We booked and stayed in a junior suite in late September. The room was very tired and in need of update, with carpet tiles, quite drab furnishings and colours.
We had one hot shower during our two and half day stay and despite raising issue about no hot water and saying they would send someone to fix the issue, no hot water eventuated.
The breakfast dining was like school camp but sharing it with 50 other schools. Very uncomfortable experience as it was crammed with guests wanting their free breakfast. We decided to go elsewhere and pay for breakfast on the 2nd day, as it was like a feeding frenzy. Obviously too many guests not enough space so that guests can enjoy their breakfast without being bumped, crowded in on or pressured by a line up at the coffee machine. Obviously, the hotel has forgotten about COVID and allowing some space between tables, as the tables were joined up in rows and you were basically shoulder to shoulder with other guests.
We would not stay at the Grand Mecure Roxy again, as there is a lack of attention to detail, the hotel rooms need updating and the breakfast dining area is not a comfortable or relaxing place to eat breakfast.
Having said this, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. It is a shame that they are let down by the hotel facilities.
