1 Bedroom Guest Cottage With Water View

Cute one bedroom guest cottage with water views of Sengecontacket and the ocean. It is fully equipped and is air conditioned. It has parking and is less than 3 miles to Edgartown harbor and convenient to State Beach and South Beach. The bedroom features a queen size bed and there is a living room and dining area with the water view. It is a lovely spot to enjoy all the amenities of Martha's Vineyard. There are bikes available for your use. There is a paved bike path on the Vineyard Haven Edgartown Rd as well as a a bus stop. The bus service is very good on the island, but it is good to have a car and we do have parking. It is easy to bike to town and beaches during the day, but at night it is nice to have a car. There are many taxis and ubers on the island as well

Great hosts
It was an enjoyable place to stay in a convenient location. It’s a small, modest cottage next to the hosts who were very friendly, available, helpful and extremely accommodating. We recommend staying here and would stay here again.

Lovely stay
Mimi and Pete were awesome! The love shack was super cute and was everything we needed it to be! Love the location access to the bike path and bus stop at the end of the road. Pete was kind enough to provide two bikes and we loved the privacy and neighborhood.

Huge Disappointment.
I had to wash EVERY dish before using it. There were stains on 3 of 5 dish towels, my pillow case, the kitchen table cloth. Food stuck to a picture on the wall in the kitchen. Ants on the counter. Had me in tears. Absolutely disgusting. I honestly could go on, but bottom line, she should not be renting her cottage.

We were very happy with our stay here. The cottage is simple, clean, no frills, cozy; private, affordable relative to MV rates; owner friendly; comfy bed; AC effective; full size fridge; and coffee maker. A couple negatives- the owner's trash/recycling was situated right next to renter's parking spot, and odors were strong. Also, furniture stains on seats of furniture were unpleasant to look at or think about. A decorative cloth to cover would solve.

Pleasant no-frills stay in beautiful Edgartown!
My partner and I enjoyed our stay in the cottage for a long weekend! We loved walking in the nearby nature preserves and going for a swim. We also used the bus line which stops right down the road from the cottage and goes straight to downtown Edgartown. We appreciated the coffee that was left for us and had good communication with the host.

This property was a very good value and has a lot going for it. I was pleasantly surprised to have a small kitchen. The dining table looks out over Sengekontacket and State Beach. The owner was helpful and had left flowers on the nice table the bed was comfortable and the bathroom small but ok. The driveway to cottage is narrow and hard to find. I mentioned this to owner.

Quiet place
You get what you pay for it. The owners are really nice people, very accommodating and hospitable. They respected my space and privacy and didn’t disturb me at all. But also checked on me frequently to see if I needed anything. If you are looking for a small secluded quiet space to get away on the island, that is affordable, nothing fancy, where you can kick back, relax, cook your own meals and just do things at your own pace and privacy. Then, this may be the place for you.

Nice enough cottage, for those that want a very clean and organized place maybe a different location would be better. For those that just want a decent place to stay and don't mind a few rough edges this place is fine.

Charming Guest House
We loved this charming cottage. Everything was provided and Mimi was gracious. She even brought us fresh flowers! Our only recommendation is if you have not been to Martha’s Vinyard take time to understand the ferry system. Make reservations ahead or it could be difficult to get your vehicle on and off the island when you’re ready.

Quante & Cozy
Cozy, well equipped little cottage with a beautiful view over to State Beach! Perfect for what we looking for! Came over for a long weekend to attend a wedding in Edgartown and didn't feel like dealing with a hotel! The owners, Mimi and Peter, are very nice! I was happy that I had read one review that mentioned that you actually get to the home from 3rd Street, even though the address is technically 4th Street. Recommend!

Not worth the stay
We had a 3 night stay we expected better for the price. The shack is a 2 car garage converted into a love shack. Previous visitor May 2018 complained mold mildew smell when you open door we were hoping this was really not like that as the owner responded it was professional cleaned the day before. I guess it was not professionally cleaned for us as either as when we walked in it was mold and mildew smelling but overall the place was clean. When we got home we found the clothes we did not wear smelled and had to be cleaned. Bathroom no AC outlet I had to use the outlet in the bedroom for shaving and my wife for hair drying and the outlet there is intermittent so kept losing power so bring lots of extension cords. Fridge worked, WIFI just good, spiders and webs all over the place to include under chairs and table. There are gaps cracks around air conditioner, screen door not sure why there is a screen door as bottom of door is 1 to 2 inch gap and cracks in the main door so no wonder there was a few crickets and bugs getting in. The shower water temp was just warm to periods of cold. The owner Mini was very nice and offered suggestions I figured no sense in saying the room smelled of mildew as she should know that. The gun club nearby was hardly noticeable when they were skeet shooting. Real close to beach which we enjoyed. I asked for the address about 2 days before we left when we got there we found if you go down the street it is on it does not get you there as it dead ends, you need to go down a different street and before you get to the end you can come up the back driveway on right or continue to end turn right and then take next right onto the property which we had to call the owner to find out when we got there this should be in the listing or tell us that in the email. Also bring bug spray for the mosquitoes I got a few bites until I bought some. No rodents for us or roof leaks so we give it a 2 star rating.

Love Shack with a view of the Atlantic
Convenient location and a nice view! We enjoyed mornings in the cottage with an ocean view facing east. It would have been nice to see the sunrise, but we slept in. The owner's home is right next door. The owners are very friendly and helpful about getting around the island. The cottage size accommodates a couple well. Everything was clean and in working order. We traveled around the island, visiting lots of beaches, happy hour in Oak Bluffs, Gay Head Lighthouse.

Charming Edgartown cottage
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were wonderful and the cottage was very cute and accommodating. The owners provided bikes which we used to ride into Edgartown during the day. The cottage is located in a quiet area with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean in the distance. Even though the cottage is located within a short distance of Edagrtown, I would still recommend renting a vehicle to enjoy the entire experience of the island. Especially if you plan on spending any time after dark downtown. Hard to ride the bikes home in the dark. Overall I would definitely recommend the cottage and owners for your stay!!!!

So much fun! All of our needs met.
We had a great stay in the "Love Shack" just behind the landlord's lovely home on the hill overlooking the waters. It was basic, yes--a bedroom, living area, small kitchen--but that was what we sought. We weren't looking for fancy because we spend nearly all of our time outside and at the water. A great price point for MV. The place was clean and ready upon our arrival. The family wasn't only cheerful and very attentive to our needs, when they caught a 380 pound tuna, they gave us two large choice cuts, some of the freshest and best bluefin we have ever had. I recommend this place and these people.

Caution!
As you are reading this review we did the same before renting this property. We did see some negative comments but brushed them off thinking they might just be picky people. They were being kind. The pics are taken carefully in this add. Notice their are no pics of the outside of the "cottage". This is not a cottage, it is a two car garage. It still has the garage doors. It is rotten on the outside, never keeped up. The yard is a mess with old trash and the grass had not been cut. The inside was really bad. When you open the door the smell hits you. Mold /mildew! There was a dehumidifier that was full when we got there. I had to empty it. The fridge did not work only the freezer. Most of the window did not open. There was a drip in the pipes, kitchen and bath that had plastic cups under them to catch the drip. REALLY! No one was around to talk to, so my wife and I tried our best to air it out. Even went to Stop and Shop for Fabreeze and air fesheners. Didnt help much. Open holes in the cubords, ants all over the sink and counters. Ya Great! Spiders day and night. Big gaps in the screen door so the skeeters came in. A sliding door with no deck to step out onto, just a 12 to 15 inch drop to the 10 inch grass. There is no hot water for dishes and showering. Only luke warm and sometimes cold water from an under sized constant heating unit. At night you lay in bed listening to the rodent running in the walls and attic. This property should not ruin another persons vacation. It should be taken off HomeAway! The only reason we are giving it one star is because it was quite and the roof did not leak.

It was okay
Not what I expected, water view yes, not exactly what one thinks. The 'cottage' was quaint, about 10 minute drive to town. Would've be nice to have a DVD player and a bigger bed. Over all it's okay. Never had a key though and had to leave the sliding door unlocked as the 'door' wouldn't unlock. The locals are unbelievably nice and full of info. Food was good and the restaurant staff are so nice.

Quaint and central
Guest house was perfect for our needs. Not within walking distance to town several miles from both Oak Bluffs and Edgartown but central between the 2 locations. Bikes were available and could easily get to Edgartown but not practical to get to Oak Bluffs or South Beach which is by far best beach! Would definitely stay again!

Overpriced Nightmare
I gave a 1 star review for the following reasons: The guest house had lots of spiders, moths, and other bugs that managed to enter the residence every day and night. It was extremely uncomfortable, and almost unbearable to constantly worry about all the bugs. There was a very musty and damp smell in the house, and no dehumidifier to help the cause. My girlfriend and I both have sinus infections, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was mold in the house because of the dampness. The guest house was listed on 4th street, but the entrance was on 3rd street. This was not given in the description, and I only found the residence because of my understanding of the streets in the Vineyard. We were woken up by the rod and gun club every morning, and this should be divulged in the description. We reached out to the host because the advertised wifi was nonexistent, and got no response. The view was nice, and the property has potential to be a nice cozy getaway. Under the current conditions, it was very unpleasant and we debating leaving after the first night. The fact that we payed over 150 dollars per night to live in this bug infested shack will continue to bug me until my next visit.
