Absolutely hated our room. It was just too small to be comfortable. The only place to sit was on the bed and the bathroom was so tiny, It was like it was on a boat or RV. The hotel itself was perfectly fine, ended up being expensive for what we got. off-season, On the weekend, no breakfast included was almost 600 pounds. It was a misfire for us.
Initially, after arriving past the 3:00 check in time, we were told our room wasn't ready, the man at check in quickly resolved it and we got our room. The room and hotel were very clean. The layout of our room was a little odd, but it was quiet. The hotel is trying to maximize space but for older travelers, that can seem cramped and not practical. The staff was very accomodating and the bar area was nice. The kitchen and serving staff do seem overwhelmed by the endless parade of huge travel tours stayiing at the hotel. That didn't impact stay, but we felt sorry for them.
Short walking distance from train station. Really nice modern hotel. Rooms spacious. Thought it could have had a chair in corner to relax as ample space. Lovely smart modern design although could have had more hooks for hanging towels near bathroom/sink area. Staff were very friendly. Nice easy check-in. Would definitely stay again if visiting Edinburgh again. Thank you 🙂
The rooms were smaller than I thought but we were only in the city for a couple days so it was fine. Not good for longer stays (big suitcases). The shower also leaked pretty badly. There was no separation between the shower/toilet and the bed other than a curtain.
The bed was really cool - it was adjustable. The room was really funky looking but the bathroom is open to the room and there was not separate lighting for the bathroom; if someone showered, the whole room was lite up. Great location though!
Hotel was clean as expected. Desirable part of the city. The rooms are small but that was expected. When we arrived, the bed was in a reclined position which was good while we were getting ready for bed. When we went to bed which was late, the bed creaked at any movement to the point where it would wake my partner or I up if we moved. It was a very difficult stay and I will not be staying again.
loved the room decor , the location was great , staff friendly and helpful

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The room had nowhere to keep clothes just a few hangers, no drawers to put anything else in.
The dining room for breakfast was very poor.
Much too expensive for what it is.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Good size room and clean. However, no kettle or tea in the room.
The quality of the tea in the reception was awful. I believe itvwas the hot water machine
I did not like having a room in the lower level. My window was partially blocked by an outside staircase. With limited light and view it was like being in a closet
The room is big and new. Fixtures in the toilet are inadequate e.g. lack of hooks for clothes and towel for showering. However, the toiletries provided were good quality. Hotel provides tea and coffee all day and a nice, cozy place to chill overseeing beautiful Edinburgh. Overall, a great hotel and I do reommend.
