We stay at Holiday Inn Expeess hotels all of the time and they’re usually awesome but this one definitely is not. We checked in to the hotel during after a snowstorm expecting to be able to use the pool that is advertised and lo and behold, it’s closed….no notification to let us know, no money off of our stay, just “I’m sorry”. It’s a very old looking hotel and was definitely not worth the $175/night I had to pay.

The only down fall was that the pool heater was broke and the heat to the room the pool was in was also broke. It was a blizzard outside. Children couldn’t enjoy the pool.

There appeared to be a homeless person they were allowing to sleep on the couch in the dining area. They next morning there was a blood stain on the couch that was not cleaned up until after the dining room closed. Also, there was a towel placed in the door to the pool overnight without anyone checking on it and removing it. There was also blood in the men’s bathroom by the pool. They apparently do not check common areas at the hotel.

The room I had 211 carpet was terrible, big stains in several spots and to worn out it was just dirty, needs immediate replacement. I told the front desk upon my arrival that the trash container just off the second floor elevator stunk badly and needed attention. the problem was not addressed until the next day. Room needs a total remodel, must of been built in 70's and never renovated. Not at all what i expect from Holiday inn. Either your standards have dropped terribly or just don't care.

The breakfast was delicious and kept well-stocked. The room was very clean and so was the lobby. Only negative was a couple employees standing near the front doors smoking every time we came and left. They were trying to hide it, but a non-smoker could smell it from thirty feet away. Perhaps they should provide an outdoor smoking area in a less traveled area.

My issue with this was I wasn't able to stay there last night because upon originally booking this stay it was for two weeks ago and somehow in the app it changed the day i booked to last night. I could never figure out how to change the days so I to rebook at the site two weeks ago and just eat the charge for last nights visit even though i wasn't there. all in all it was a frustrating experience with Expedia.
