Di who works there was so lovely and friendly. Always welcoming you with a good morning, having amazing conversations. He made the place extra special for me being a solo traveller. He gave me tips and tricks and cool places to visit. Will forever be grateful for this amazing place and Di.
Thank you x
Forest Camp is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s rustic camping in bungalows with a breathtaking view.
It certainly wasn’t our most comfortable stay due to the heat, but the beds and facilities were absolutely fine. We struggled in the heat overnight but were given a second fan which definitely helped. The owners are currently installing ceiling fans in all the bugalows which we feel will make a massive difference.
The location of Forest Camp is great. It is a 15 minute walk to town. The walk was pleasant!
There are a lot of steep steps up to the bungalows which weren’t an issue for us but would make this place unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.
The showers and toilets weren’t the cleanest but in a way that is definitely expected when camping in a forest (animals and their debris).
The breakfast was really nice with options of pancakes or omelette.
There is an old style washing machine which is available to use but bring detergent as they will charge to use theres.
The view you get for the price is exceptional, maybe even the best.
The people running the property are very accommodating and helpful.
Would recommend.

Okay for a 1 or 2 night adventure
Forest Camp is a small “glamping” style site located a little off the beaten path. About a 15 to 20min walk into El Nido town but with a few basic shops and eateries within 10min. Be prepared for a camping style experiences with few ‘luxuries’.
+ Amazing view of the bay including Cadlao and Helicopter islands
+ Friendly and helpful staff
+ Quiet location
+ Fun unique escape
+ Free Breakfast
+ Lots of potential with some additional TLC and expansion of facilities
- We didn’t have warm water for showering during our entire stay (And zero water pressure at times too).
- LOTS of steps every time you want to come or go (also not easy with luggage)
- Toilet and shower facilities not particularly clean.
- Lots of sand, dirt and noise from on-site construction (should be mostly complete by early 2024)
- Slow communication
- Inside of cabins can get very hot (luckily we had two fans that mostly worked)
Also, be aware that if you have a fear or dislike of creepy crawlies and insects, you may want to avoid this place! As expected on the hillside of the forest, it is teaming with insects, spiders, ants, lizards and noisy birds. This is certainly not a compliant, simply a warning to anybody expecting anything more than a pretty rudimentary camping style experience.
My recommendation would be to stay here if you would like a fun and unique night or two in nature away from the town. Any more may be too long unless camping is very much your thing.

Gorgeous!
This hotel has a phenomenal view. Just incredible. I loved how it was a quick walk to town, though it was far enough away to feel like you’re deep in nature. I really enjoyed my stay here. And the people working there were so nice! Also I never felt unsafe walking to and from town even at night.
I think it’s important to know a few things though:
1. Stairs. So many stairs. I didn’t mind, in fact I needed the exercise. But if you have any mobility issues you will have to find another place. Need to use the bathroom late at night? You will be climbing stairs. Forget something on your room? Get ready to sweat. Stairs.
2. Bugs. Thankfully there are nice mosquito nets in the rooms and I never had any bugs directly in my room, but there are indeed bugs around the other areas, especially at night when they are attracted to the lights. If you freak out when there are creepy crawlers around then this might not be the place for you. You’re not quite camping, but you’re not in a fancy hotel either. You’re next to nature so enjoy the nature sounds!
3. No AC. Again, this is rustic. It gets very hot in the huts during the day. Also they are set up so that you can’t really just lay around and look at the view from inside. They all have hammocks under them though that you can enjoy. Hut 9 (I think?) has the best hammock spot with a little deck thing underneath.
So again I really enjoyed my time here, but just know what to expect so everyone can have a nice time!
The family that manage this place are all so friendly and helpful - they definitely made the stay extra special. 15 minutes walking to the main town, but tucked away from the busy part. Huts are cozy, they can get very warm during the day but they have fans (no AC). Communal toilets and showers. Beautiful view of the bay from the huts and common area.
Excellent location and phenomenal view of El Nido Bay and the Cadlao island . Service is superb . They try their best to serve the customers .

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Nice concept but difficult to access from outside and also from within.
The views are great from the property and the breakfast is decent as well. However, the access road is a dirt road and it gets herculean to reach the reception.
The worse is the access to the rooms who hbrequirs climbing about 50 steps to the reception area and another 50 from the room to the bathroom/toilets. The restroom facilities are quite dirty as well.
I loved my stay there! Everything is as described and the view is magnificent!!! I would say hut 9 or 10 have the best view. At the reception you can get tours booked or tips where to go or what to do.
Make no mistake, this is a camping like experience, just with huts instead of tents.
This was a unique stay in a prime location. Forest Camp is set against a hill where you have an insane view of the sea and islands. The cabins are equipped with all the essentials and the toilets and showers are tidy.
The manager and staff are incredibly friendly, thoughtful and helpful.
