We stayed at the house from April 15-21. It did not go according to plan during or after our stay. The village that that house is located in has a few restaurant options although none of them were open because it's offseason?There was a beach bar about 50 metres from the house that’s not quite a beach bar as it's on the road but it has the basics, beer, some snacks.The beach is rocky (no sand) so it's not that fun for kids or sand castles. L'Ampolla is about a 7-10 minute drive from L’Ampolla in which you can get everything you need, groceries, meat, fish, restaurants.
We encountered a number of issues with the home
• The bed in the front bedroom was broken and the mattress was not able to be supported by the bed frame. We moved the mattress to the living room and slept on the floor.
• A less material issue was the lack of functioning lightbulbs in the guesthouse and no spares in the house
• The swimming pool was completely unusable for the first two days. The pool was sludgy, dirty and not operating. Pool cleaner came eventually but we lost 3 days of pool use.
• Similar to the pool, the hot tub was not functioning (and was gross dirty) and did not become useable till Thursday as the cleaning team came Wednesday evening. Which in of it self is a nuisance.
• There are also tiny little spaces in the window frames and door frames where bugs can get in. So we had a number of mosquitos each night in the home.
All of these issues were eventually dealt with (except for the mosquitos) – but it was a number of days before everything was finalized and then we had to leave. There is also an electricity charge which would make sense if you’re shown the initial electricity reading as well as the end of stay reading so that you know what the cost will be to you. But neither of these things happened so we paid an amount that could be real or not.
So the house was nowhere near as advertised when we arrived and the landlord doesn't seem to care to respond or communicate. I sent a very respectful email asking for a refund of 20 euros/day - which is 1/7th of our daily rate. I cannot paste the email i sent him because i'm out of characters. I'm a reasonable person. I just wanted a house as house as advertised and to have some fun on vacation with my family. We traveled from Canada. It didn't happen and the owner doesn't care.
