The Cottage at Wild Goose Outpost is a cozy and quaint home that will provide you the comfort of a retreat while staying in a key location for your unique experience. Nestled among Sequoia and Douglas Fir trees, The Cottage is located along the Umpqua River Scenic Byway on the outskirts of Elkton, OR. The home is within walking distance to the Elkton Community Education Center, the high school and grade school, restaurants, several wineries, and the Umpqua River. The town of Elkton is situated on Hwy. 38 just 20 miles west of Interstate 5 and 36 miles east of Hwy. 101 at Reedsport and the Oregon Coast.

The newly remodeled and updated mid-century home will sleep 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Bedroom #1 has a queen bed. Upstairs is bedroom #2 with a queen and twin XL beds, and bedroom #3 with a twin XL bed. All beds have memory foam mattresses and most have adjustable bed frames.

The living room offers comfortable seating and has a 50” smart TV. Wifi is available throughout The Cottage. Home comfort is maintained by a ductless heat pump (heating and cooling); a wood stove is also available for use when desired.

The dining room offers a full-sized table with comfortable seating for 6 people (4 chairs and a bench). There are also a couple of bar stools for additional seating.

For your morning (or any time-of-day) enjoyment, a Coffee Bar is ready for your use with a single serve coffee maker, a 12-cup coffee maker, and a hot water kettle. Basic coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and apple cider supplies are provided.

The home has a fully functional and well supplied kitchen with a generous amount of countertop and cabinet space. The full-sized stainless-steel appliances include a glass-top range with a convection oven and a warming drawer, french door refrigerator with interior icemaker, microwave oven, and a dishwasher.

The spacious bathroom has a tub/shower combination and a vanity with countertop space. A hair dryer is provided. The bathroom can be accessed from a door near the kitchen or from bedroom #1.

In addition to the indoor comfort, The Cottage has an outside deck that is perfect for relaxing, listening to the river or birds, feeling gentle breezes, watching sunsets, and dining.

A carport is conveniently located to allow for a covered entrance into the home and there is ample outdoor parking.

For your stay, The Cottage will be supplied with fresh bed, bath, and kitchen linens. Incidentals will also be ready for your use: hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The Cottage at Wild Goose Outpost has been owned by the same family for over 50 years. It served as a loving home and extended peace, comfort, and restoration to all who entered. Now managed by the third generation, this same vision for The Cottage is maintained today.

🍁Fall 🍁 in love with Wild Goose Cottage
Charming, quaint, clean and delightfully, tasteful fall touches from the coffee bar with pumpkin spice and apple cider. The warmth and comfort of being home away from home. We'll definitely be back again soon.

Amazing!
Not only was the host always available to communicate with us, but she has made a beautiful place for anyone to enjoy the amazing surroundings that Elkton has to offer. All my friends enjoyed their stay with comfortable beds and a friendly community that made our visit memorable.

Home is very lovely
House is as pretty as listing and the host, Melissa, is very nice and easy to reach when needed (a slight need for heat in the morning- this AZ girl wasn't used to the cooler mornings). The house isn't on the river as I thought it was going to be, I'm not sure if I misread that or not. There is quite a bit of road noise but it's the only thing I didn't care for. The turkeys in the morning, the greenery around, cool mornings and lovely home was wonderful!

Great home for a stay
Wild Goose house was wonderful and worked out well for my group. We had a group pf fellows from a northern California Fly fishing club up there to fish the Umpqua River. The home was are base and no problems or issues. If you are looking to hang around a quite little town and enjoy. I recommend this home.

Great place to stay in Elkton
The place was everything it advertised and more. Plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable and a home away from home. Great location between I-5 and the coast. The hosts communication on how to get there was spot on, so it was easy to find. Thank you Melissa, I will be back!
