Perfect
It was just as advertised, and better than expected. Host Jay was great, and the amenities like canoes, kayaks, and fishing gear (including the bait), free to use is terrific.

Comfy Cabin
We had a wonderful stay in the Moose cabin. The cabin was airy and oh so comfortable. It was so helpful to have the kitchen for preparing meals. It is a quick walk to the dishwashing sink and the bathhouse, all of which is well maintained. Waking up early and taking a quick paddle on the lake was such a treat. We highly recommend booking a cabin at Wilderness Wind.

First family vacation
We picked this location as it had everything and reasonably priced. It was my hubby, daughter(17) 2 pugs and myself. The moose is a great cabin for this amount of people. It was so peaceful and perfect. Smaller resort and only one other cabin with 2 lovely ladies was there. Such a great experience. Great host! Jay came by and sat by the fire and chatted with us. With every penny!

6th Annual Girls Trip!!
Myself and three girlfriends enjoyed our 6th annual Wilderness Wind Trip. Every year we are welcomed and we have the greatest time. The views, the nature, the fishing, the cabins, they company of other guests. The overall simplicity of this resort, and the host. Jay, makes it always so enjoyable. We are planning on being lifetime guests!!

5th annual girls trip!
This was our 5th year to Wilderness Wind and it was absolutely beautiful and amazing as per usual. Jay is awesome and Lulu is a great greeter! We stayed in Moose and loved every minute. Everything was clean and organized. We leave little trinkets hidden in the cabin every year, it's fun to see them moved to different spots☺️. We will definitely be back next year!!

The focus is the outdoors
The cabin is a place to sleep, eat & cook and it did its job spectacularly. Plenty of room for 3 people, a little tight with 4 - but workable.

Relaxing Weekend
Great place to get away from the rat race! Small, quiet, well-kept, simple. Nice lake, good for fishing! Resort has a great community fireplace and lots of kayaks and canoes to use. Proceeds go to a great organization helping troubled kids from the Chicago area. Quiet roads for walking/running. Close enough to Ely and Tower with plenty to do!

Cozy cabin
My kids and I stayed at Wilderness Wind in the Moose cabin. I chose this resort due to the location as it was near a few MN State Parks, something we do each summer! The cabin has a lot of character and met our needs for an upgraded camping experience. The resort is set up to do traditional camping tasks (e.g. dishes outside, bath house, etc). But also provides a few amenities like a refrigerator and stove for cooking. The view of the lake was amazing and we had access to kayaks and other watercraft for use if we wanted. Jay, the property manager was very kind and helpful. He shared information about the resort being a non-profit and how they support youth programming. That is pretty awesome!

Quaint Retreat
What a great little place to stay in the Northwoods. Jay was such an accommodating host and very responsive. We had a late check in and he reached out to us to let us know he would leave the lights on and if we needed anything at all to just call. He had a fire going outside to greet us. The setting was so beautiful right on the lake. The cabin was warm and inviting. Great sleeping.

Peaceful Getaway
We were fortunate to not have others staying at neighboring sites and our experience was very serene. Lake is very accessible and Jay is a great host with lots of area experience. Gazebo has a lot of helpful items if forgot for cooking. They have voth gas and charcoal grills to use. The North American Bear Center is a few miles drive and definitely a highlight recommended. Enjoyed Bass Lake Trail hike to the falls and is a great place to swim. Cabin windows are difficult to open, some cob webs that could have been cleared. Very dog friendly and Lulu is especially a great host dog. Overall, will visit again.
