Went on a family trip and the cabin was great. Bringing two teenagers can be a challenge, but there was plenty of things to see plus a s'mores cookout Friday and Saturday night. Not a lot of restaurants and stores in the area, so be prepared to bring food and things you need.
Checked in late and was put in the small Yurt. Was told that is what I reserved. The next day the deluxe yurt became available and house cleaning told me they had an emergency stay over in the deluxe yurt and that is why we where in the small Yurt. We got moved and everything else was fine. Would have be nice to be told the truth up front.
on check in we were told it was a 4:00 pm check in as we were told they need to clean the cabin. When 4:00 pm came we when back to check in to get our keys. We got keys to another cabin the was rented to others. Very embarrassing situation. Had to go back to main office and get the right keys. Once we finely got to our cabin, we noticed the toilet was used and not flushed, no trash bags in the trash cans, no coffee for the coffee machine. another trip to the main office. We decided to make dinner after a long day and as we start we found no cutlery. Yet another call to the desk.
By now it is time for bed and we had our son with us and we were ready to pull out the couch to a bed and when we opened the couch up the sheets were used and badly stained.
We were happy to leave this Snowflower RV Resort.

Yurts not worth the money.
Checked in at noon, but not able to access Yurt. Upon return, at 9:30 pm, the store/office was closed. No service to contact an employee. Another family arrived also wanting to check in had cell service which enabled them to contact the ranger who arrived several minutes later. She gave us a key which did not open the Yurt. Fortunately, she hadn't left the premises and had a master key. We entered the Yurt to find there were no linens or towels. We were told we were supposed to bring them. However, she was kind enough to locate some linens. The next morning we were told there were no working keys and a locksmith would arrive sometime that day. While the ranger was very helpful, the Yurt was not worth $100/night when you have to bring linens, towels, pillows, etc. Also, the pool was empty.
This "cabin" is really a single wide mobile home with kitchen (stove, microwave, coffee, but no oven), bath with shower, toiletries provided. Lots of closet space and nice queen bed, although bedroom is very small. The TV was decent with DirecTV and DVD player. The couch is a very uncomfortable full futon. The dining table seats two and is cramped with futon. There is a large barbeque and chairs on the porch for enjoying nature. Not too close to neighbors. There is a community area with pool and outdoor games.
What could have been very good turned out to be a problem because of an infestation of aggresive yellow jackets near our cabin. There was a nice porch with chairs and outdoor grill on it, but because of the yellow jackets we couldn't use it.
The management was going to put out traps, but by that time I had already been stung.
None of the other cabins had our problem according to those I spoke to.
Unfortunately upon arrival we discovered that our room is not clean and the hardest part is that we were unable to make contact with anybody to rectify this but eventually the next day the staff was very kind and offered to help take care of the cost and make things right so for that we were thankful. A cabin type accommodation requires more attention then an RV site, so they should probably think of another way for people to get a hold of them if they check in after four. Absolutely beautiful grounds and the cabin we were in was really very suitable for myself and my 2 children.
Campground forgot to leave key for me after i had just spoke with them to confirm my arrival. Had to drive 1 1/2 hours to find vacancy at 2 in the morning . Only got 4rs sleep. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities and the yurt were very clean. Our only complaint was that the heater they provided stopped working in the middle of the night (in February) so it was extremely cold inside the Yurt. it's reasonably close to the skiing resorts as well :)
WE rented 2 small cabins and a Yurt. Great accommodations. Just as described. Cabins Have Queen bed and sofa bed. The only reason for not giving perfect rating was one of the sofa beds air mattress was not working. They plow every day and do a good job of keeping roads clear. Very Happy with our stay
We arrived in the middle of the night.Hard to find Yurt But cabins were easy to locate. After hours check in is avail.Lots of fun for us and the heaters worked well.

nice yurt
Nice yurt. Bring tire chains and warm sleeping bags if staying in the yurts. Pleasant winter wonderland in January.
We arrived never having stayed in a cabin rental. Everything was in the cabin that we needed. All we needed to take was the food. The cabins were in the middle of the forest with many chances to watch the animals play outside. The cabin was nice and clean. There were many opportunities to take pictures and the scenery was breathtaking. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. We will be coming back here again and again. The smell of the forest was wonderful!
What's not to like? The place is great for what it is - a yurt without blankets, sheets, or running water. Clean public bathroom with shower was nearby, hotel staff was great, the lodge was a great place to hang out with the kids and there was a microwave there as well as a pool table and fusball, beautiful little lake -- and a great swimming pool. Wifi was super slow. But we were in the mountains, so that made sense.

Wouldn't recommend it.
I went camping at Snowflower with a group of friends (from high school) that have been camping as a group for ten years. The lake and area are beautiful. We found the campground staff were abrupt and rude. We didn't understand the rules about reserving spots. The spots were paid for and our friends tried to hold a spot (after the check in time) next to them for friends that were arriving with in the hour. Campground staff yelled out our friend telling her "Never do that again or you will be kicked out of here!" We really did not get it. We had a several unpleasant interactions with the staff there. We are all rule abiding families with kids, not trying to cause trouble by any means. I understand they probably deal with people that are loud, disrespectful etc. however we didn't feel we deserved the backlash for other bad campers. It ruined our experience because we were there to relax and have fun, not encounter bad tempered campground workers. The patrons of this business are on vacation...I think they need to think about their customers.
