4 Bedroom Rustic and Secluded Cabin. Dogs Welcome!

Looking for that rich blend of adventure, relaxation and breathtaking natural attractions? Look no further than the Sleeping Bear Lair! Situated between downtown Traverse City and the majestic shoreline of Lake Michigan, our home is tucked away amongst the rolling terrain and towering trees of Northern Michigan. The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a short drive away, as are more than 30 wineries across the Leelanau & Old Mission Peninsulas that begin just minutes from the house.

Come and enjoy your cabin-away-from-home at the Sleeping Bear Lair in Empire, Michigan. Nestled within a beautifully wooded 3+ acre estate, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom house is the perfect spot for 8 guests but can accommodate 10 upon request. The house is centrally located near Crystal Mountain, Benzie & Leelanau County snowmobile trails, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Glen Arbor, Cedar, Traverse City and much more.

The spacious living room invites you and your guests into this comfortable home with 300-mbps Wi-Fi and four Roku TV's setup to play your favorite streaming services. Be sure to bring your log-in information. We have provided games for all ages and entertainment, and feel free to "Bring a Book, Leave a Book" with the growing collection of reading materials.

Since the kitchen is the heartbeat of a home, we have equipped it with all the cookware you will need, including a crock pot, toaster, griddle, blender and a well-stocked Keurig coffee & hot cocoa station.

Whether you are planning a family vacation, a girls' weekend, a golf trip or a snowmobiling adventure, you always need a place to come back to that screams “Rest and Relaxation”, and that is precisely what you will get at the Sleeping Bear Lair.

The ground floor has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed, and a full-size bathroom. In the second floor lofts, the spacious primary bedroom has a queen bed, an en suite bathroom, and a walkout deck. Also upstairs, you will find another full bathroom, a combo guestroom with a king bed, two twin beds, and a lounging area with a smart TV. All rooms have ample storage for clothing. Most importantly, all mattresses are pressure relieving, 12-inch thick memory foam, come with a variety of pillows, and are made with high quality linens.

The first-floor laundry is conveniently located near the kitchen. We have provided laundry detergent and fabric softener for your washing needs, as well as an iron and small ironing board. You will also find 'Smores sticks for roasting marshmallows in the kitchen drawer, and doggie supplies for your pet's stay.

Outside you have hammocks for napping in the shade, Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, and corn hole boards for settling all disputes. Lastly, the large private lot is surrounded by beautiful trees and has ample parking for your boat or snowmobiles, and any outside toys you wish to bring!

Amazing stay
Our group had an amazing time at this property. We had 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 infants and there was plenty of space for all of us. The property was very clean, something very important to us with the babies on the ground. Check in was very easy and we had a couple of questions throughout the week that Michael was very prompt to respond to. The location was perfect, very centrally located to everything we wanted to do so nothing was more than 20-25 minutes away. The property makes you feel like you’re in the wooded mountains, but then you can drive to the beach very quickly! It really is the best of both worlds.

The house and property were beautiful. Location between Sleeping Bear and Traverse City was great. We even took a day trip up to Mackinac Island one day. Communication from the host was fantastic. He replied to every issue promptly. When the gas grill wasn’t working very well, he ordered a new one and had it delivered the next day. The only negative comment we have is that the grass hadn’t been mowed so we couldn’t play yard games that we had brought with us. The host tried to remedy that issue but the mowing crew never showed up. Overall, though, we would definitely recommend this property.

Cozy Cabin
This is an excellent cabin in the woods. It is very well appointed, cozy cabin. The cabin is located an easy, quick drive to downtown Traverse City for all the shopping, dining, and other needs you may have. Highly recommend this for a great family vacation spot.

Location
Very strategically located property. The one missing information on the listing was about how close the property is to a pretty busy road.

The One
Selfishly, I am reluctant to leave a review. Reason being, the secret will be out on how wonderful this property is. It truly is the one! My family and I have been visiting Up North for years. Multiple times a year, typically at various rentals. This has been the best one yet. No frills, no fluff, but everything you could possibly need. The definition of cozy. The property is wonderful and a great location between various must see spots. Truly, no complaints about this property what do ever. We will be back, many times over.

Great stay for the family
The property was the cleanest rental I have had in a long time. The property grounds were spectacular and had everything for the family; great fire pit, large driveway, sandbox for the kids, walking path. We cooked multiple nights and was well stocked with everything we needed. The house had a perfect set up where each bedroom had its own privacy from everyone else. The location was good for everything we wanted to do. 20-30 minutes to everything; sleeping bear, traverse city, Glen haven, fish town. Lake Ann is only 10 min away. Would definitely stay here again and would recommended it for all families

Sibling Gathering
It was very nice. The only but, is the tv in the upstairs bedroom with the twin beds is in a terrible location. Three people shared the room and we all hit our head on the corner of the tv. One person hit her ear on the corner and required ice to take down the redness and pain. But otherwise it was fantastic.
