Lucerna Hotel certainly has the modern, trendy aesthetic that initially draws the eye. However, I found that the charm stopped there. While the design of the place is contemporary and sleek, the experience left much to be desired. The service, for starters, was disappointing. The staff carried an air of uptightness, seeming more preoccupied with managing stress than ensuring guest comfort. Interactions lacked the friendliness and attentiveness that one would hope for, making the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. This stiffness across the board suggests deeper management issues, as everyone appeared to be working under significant pressure. The rooms, though clean, presented their own challenges. Street noise filtered in incessantly, both day and night, making it difficult to relax. Adding to the disturbance, the heater in our room emitted an awful noise of its own. For a hotel striving for modernity, these details detract significantly from the experience. The absence of coffee machines in the rooms was also a letdown. Including this small but thoughtful touch could enhance the guest experience considerably. Perhaps most frustrating was the lack of proactive communication from the staff regarding the hotel’s benefits and amenities. It would have been helpful if they took the time to share the features available to us rather than leaving guests to fend for themselves. Overall, while Lucerna Hotel makes a visual statement, it lacks the warmth and attentiveness.
