Cozy Mountain Retreat - at Mt. Rainier & Crystal Mt.

Do you have 5 or 6 friends (or family members) looking to enjoy a cabin getaway buried within the woods near Crystal Mountain? Rather, does your dream vacation consist of being secluded with only 150 foot-tall trees surrounding you? If you answered yes to both of those, then you've found your getaway spot!

ABOUT LINDGREN HAUS

The Lindgren Haus is a cozy cabin with big windows, comfy chairs, and there's one bedroom with a queen sized bed. Make your way up the stairs and you'll find the loft which holds a king sized bed and a futon couch.

If you'd rather not leave this cozy spot, there's plenty of amenities to entertain you: the reclining chairs in the living room are perfect for a good book, the full kitchen is ready for whatever woodsy confections you want to cook up, and the card table is ready for whatever game you fancy.

Don't expect to rely on electronics here. Because you're so buried within the woods, remember to bring your favorite board games and DVDs. The television works great for viewing your favorite movies and shows, though it only hooks to the DVD player. Stay warm by the fireplace while you have movie or game night!

Great location near Sunrise
We needed a place to crash near the entrance to Sunrise so that we could get in early when we didn't have a reservation. This cabin served as our base camp and had everything we needed for a couple of nights.

The mountains are Calling
This was our first time doing a VRBO. The process was so easy, the Host were attentive. The price was affordable. This Location was perfect. Sitting in the Midst of Trees, near a River. we were pleasantly surprise for how roomy and open it was for being small in square footage. 8 of US and 2 dogs had PLENTY of space. Cabin was very clean and well stocked. I highly recommend this place and we will be back again for more adventures!

Great Cabin for Crystal!
My kids and I stayed here, as a launch point for a few days of Snow riding at Crystal. Cabin was great and well appointed with all we needed to cook our meals, sleep well, and lounge around. Great walks down to the river and all around the neighborhood. Really enjoyed the stay and will come back. Oh, and our dog got to tag along and enjoy the mountain air. :)

Great location
The cabin was as described, and very nicely located. Unfortunately, there was scattered trash remaining on the property (front lawn/drive), evidence of mice (inside) and a bat (inside). Property manager very kind, and brought a net to move the bat to the outdoors.

Great cabin for a long weekend!
A nice cabin for a small family to spend a long weekend getting out during the day on jaunts to the surrounding mountains. Great layout for a cozy space and in peaceful surroundings. Dimmers on every light made it easy for some to hit the hay upstairs earlier than others. Front porch with picnic table is great for relaxing after a long hike. We all enjoyed seeing the elk out the big front picture windows one morning. Would definitely come back here again!

Great place to disconnect
My husband, dog, and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was very refreshing. Short walk (follow the “picnic area” signs) to the White River, super fun to walk around the neighborhood and see all the cute houses and cabins (this is not a secluded area, it’s a neighborhood and you have close neighbors), and lots of elk sightings! The house could use a little updating, but it was comfortable and we used the heck out of the wood stove. Overall highly recommend!

Cute place, but some concerns
I booked a somewhat last minute trip to Mount Rainier National Park (about 45 days out) and this was the only property on the north side of the park, east of the Seattle suburbs. I was a bit hesitant based on reviews, I booked anyway. Pros: 1) Location was the closest town to the northeast (Sunrise/White River) entrance to the park. 2) Cabin was clean, except for carpet stains. 3) Check in and out was easy via a lockbox. Cons: 1) After booking with VRBO, the management company reached out with another contract to sign, which was a requirement to confirm the reservation. There was conflicting information (like the cancellation policy) which was confusing because you just never know based on the environment we're currently living in. The rest of the contract was redundant and seemed unnecessary. 2) It took multiple calls and emails to the management company throughout the booking and confirmation process. 3) The management company actually lost that signed contract, so a week before check in when I was supposed to receive arrival and check-in instructions, instead I had to make more calls and emails to prove I'd already signed it. 4) Although I'd read there's no wifi at the property, I was planning to rely on local cell service and my hot spot to access the internet. What I didn't know, is that this part of Washington there's very little - or more often times ZERO service. So the best thing for the property managers to do would be provide internet. With young kids back home, it was concerning that I couldn't even get a phone call while in the cabin. I had to drive a few miles into town to even get service. It was also a considerable pain when we couldn't even figure out where to eat or navigate to the park (or anywhere else). It's one thing to want to create an atmosphere where you can unplug for a while. It's another to intentionally limit access for real-life experiences emergencies. Investing in a simple internet plan would be a HUGE improvement to this property. The stay worked out just fine, but I wouldn't stay here again without working internet.

Cute place, but a few real considerations
I booked a trip to Mount Rainier NP last minute (45 days out), which was my first mistake. This was the ONLY property on the north side of the park, so I was hesitant based on reviews but booked anyhow. Pros: 1) Closest town (although tiny) to the Northeast entrance of MRNP. 2) Cute forested area with lots of privacy. 3) Mostly clean, except the carpets were stained. 4) Checking in and out (via lockbox) was really easy. Cons: 1) The property is managed by a rental company, who requires a secondary contract. This is the first VRBO (or the other popular vacation rental site) that I've ever had to sign a separate contract with. It definitely seemed redundant. 2) The property management company is not easy to work with - I had to place several calls and emails throughout this additional contract process just to reserve and confirm my stay. 3) They also LOST that contract so a week before the arrival date when I should have received address and check-in instructions, I had to call them with proof of that contract and ask for directions. 4) The biggest drawback to this property is that there is no internet. I really didn't think this would be a big deal because I'd use a hot spot or cell phone service. However, this is very rural WA and there's NONE available. I traveled to this cabin with my mom, and have small children back home, so it was a big concern that there was no way to contact me. About 1/3 of the time I was there when I stepped outside I received one bar of service (my mom often received NONE as well.) I had to drive into town a few miles up the road just to get a text or make a call to check in with my family. I understand creating an 'off the grid' experience, but when you can't even search places to eat nearby, or directions to get from the rental ANYWHERE, having no internet really creates a hindrance on the experience. It's very obvious the management company doesn't want to pay for internet, cable TV or even buy an antenna for local (free) network TV. Overall I ranked this a 3 star because the accommodations were adequate and accurate based on the listing. I would not revisit this location due to the hoops I had to jump through during booking and the lack of accessibility to internet/cell service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute little cabin. My teenage kids loved the bedroom loft while my husband and I were thrilled with the main bedroom being downstairs (no going up and down stairs). It had all the amenities we needed. And it was such a nice treat to be visited by elk every morning.

The good: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The cabin was nicely appointed. The couches were surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need to make meals along with a couple of coffee makers. We however brought our own cookware, cooking utensils, coffee mugs and coffeemaker, although we didn't need to. There was a nice woodstove in the living room which we didn't use however someone before us must have because the cabin smelled of wood smoke but we didn't mind. The location was convenient for us. We read in an earlier review that there was no cell service but we had cell service albiet a bar or two and we were able to text. We saw a big majestic elk and that was pretty awesome to see. The bad: There were cobwebs on the doors and cabinets so it needed hi-dusting. There was a dirty baking pan in the oven that someone forgot so we washed that. There were tiny little ants on the kitchen counters the entire time we were there. Not an infestation but whenever we looked, we had to kill a few at a time. We kept our food on the dining room table. These things were not that big of a deal to us but we thought worth mentioning for owners a chance to rectify it. Would we come back? Yes!!!
