Lake front escape - a quiet lake front cottage with easy access to the beach

This cottage is an excellent place to escape the hustle and bustle for a quiet weekend away. The surrounding area has plenty to entertain you including wineries, golf courses, cycle trail and not forgetting the beach and lake just a stones throw away.

The cottage is well-equipped 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms, a sun room and a spacious garden overlooking Lake Erie. There is easy access to the main beach just 1 min walk away.

The downstairs of the cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom and a spacious and light sunroom. Upstairs there is a master bedroom overlooking the lake and two other double bedrooms, and a second bathroom. All bedrooms have queen beds and ceiling fans. In addition to the 3 queen beds, the down stairs sofa pulls out to make a double bed.

The spacious garden gives you uninterrupted views of the lake.

No beach access, other tenants on property (disruptive and rude)
Listing is completely fraudulent. "Easy beach access" includes a 3 foot drop off of a rusty step ladder onto wet slippery rocks. Completely unsafe and unusable. Luckily, there is a beach nearby so the entire trip wasn't ruined. House was messy and covered in bugs. We had to clean before we could even any of the outdoor furniture or kitchen. Host also didn't inform is until after we had passed our refundable date that there would be other tenants on the property. These tenants were loud and disruptive and rude. We also parked in the designated parking spots and our car was hit by something and caused major damage to the driver side door. Not sure what the host wanted us to do with the linens. As per her instruction we left all the linens in the laundry basket by the washer and dryer but now I'm getting additional cleaning fees for making them do "extra laundry". Overall a bad experience, save the effort and rent somewhere else.

Colchester Getaway
A perfect summer getaway for my family! Reviews and listings were on target. Everything you would expect to enjoy the comforts of a home. The sun room was perfect to play games and to relax and listen to the sounds of the lake. Location is close to several excellent wineries and brew pubs. Would definitely return.

Very nice cottage stay in excellent location!
The cottage was clean and spacious, with everything we needed such as linens, towels, etc. We were pleasantly surprised with how generously equipped the kitchen was with dishes and equipment! The sun room was our favorite spot with amazing views, and the outdoor seating provided lots of opportunities to enjoy the fresh air. Our favorite aspect was the location - a 2 minute walk from a park with a playground and splash pad for the young kids, and access to the beach. So convenient! Also we were very impressed with the communication with the host, she was so prompt on replying and provided all the info beforehand making our stay easier. Overall a great experience!

The property is an older two-storey house with an excellent location. The interiors are reasonably well maintained and the amenities were quite adequate. However, we felt that there was room for improvement in house-keeping. The lawns too could do with better maintenance.

The Perfect Get-away
This house is extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It is perfectly situated overlooking the lake and steps away from the public park and beach. The adults enjoyed the proximity to restaurants, wineries, and vegetable/fruit stands. My grandson loved the play structure and water function in the park. Absolutely perfect!

Great property and location
The house and property were perfect. The beach was closed when we were there, but the splash pad, park, and beautiful sunroom kept us busy! There were also several other beaches we were able to use - all under a ten minute drive. Hosts went above and beyond in terms of communication, both before and during our stay.

Perfect family escape
This house was a great setup for 2 families plus grandparents, very accessible beach right beside the house and so many wineries within walking distance. Host was very responsive and the house was well stocked for large dinners etc. We will likely be back!

Lovely Property
We were there as a family with small children (aged 2 + 6) and having the playground, splash pad and large sandy beach next door was incredibly handy for us. House was well appointed with all the comforts of home, especially compared with many other cottages (e.g full municipal water access, a/c, natural gas BBQ). House was true to pictures. Views were amazing and the sunroom was so nice for a coffee and book.

Great weekend at a great cottage
We had a great weekend at our lake front escape in Colchester. The views were amazing, just what we were looking for. Location was great for an easy bike ride to the area wineries. The house/cottage itself was nicely decorated and fully equipped with pretty much everything you need for your stay. The back room was very comfortable with panoramic views of the lake and was a fantastic place for morning coffee. The area is very quiet. Master bedroom and all rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. The communication with Monique was very good and almost instant. I would recommend this property to anyone going to the area. We are already planning next year's stay. Thanks.
