The countryside near Omaha Beach

The house is situated in the village of Étréham, 10 minutes from Omaha Beach and from the city of Bayeux, 5 minutes from Port-en-Bessin. Its location is perfect to discover the D-Day Landing Beaches. On the slope of a small hill, it offers a beautiful view on the surrounding countryside.
You will have an independent housing on two floors (another floor contains another dwelling), with an independent entrance and garden.

The village is very calm. The house is very well located for visiting the museums and beaches. The house is bright. It consists of an old part and a recent part (the veranda).



We can provide sheets if you wish (10€/double bed, 5€/single bed). If you prefer to bring your own sheets, let us know and we will subtract the cost. We provide one medium sized towel per person.

Wonderful, bucolic retreat
This property is located in a small village with farmland to the rear but is close to Bayeaux and the D-Day beaches. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The rooms are light and airy with lots of operable windows to let in the air. A great place if you want to be close to the area attractions and have a quiet space to yourself.

Wonderful home in Normandy!
We enjoyed our stay at the house while visiting different historic sights. The home was clean and had plenty of space for the 5 of us. Beautiful views from the table to enjoy during breakfast! Easy to communicate with the owner via email. Thank you!

Great Location for D-Day exploration, and for visiting the entire Contentin peninsula.
This location makes it very easy to drive to all D-Day sites. No services in Etréham except for the soul - is is a true village - but it is just 10 min from shopping, fuel, and restaurants in Port au Bessin, and only 20 min to Bayeux. It is very quiet (you’ll hear birds, maybe an occasional chicken or cow), and the view is one of timeless pastoral peacefulness. The downstairs kitchen is functional and nice, and opens to the patio and yard. The upstairs kitchen is basic. Lots of sleeping space and table space, not much lounging space. Has a washing machine. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was good to get “home” every night after the day’s excursions.

Maison bien placée pour visiter tout le Calvados et particulièrement les plages du débarquement. Dommage que le maison présente trop d'escaliers dont un non sécurisé pas de rampe. Manque d'accessoires de cuisine tel autocuiseur et surtout pas de notice explicative pour le micro onde dont nous n'avons pas pu nous servir.

Das Häuschen war wunderbar geeignet für uns lärmgeplagte Stadtmenschen, absolut ruhig mit einen schönen Blick über die umliegenden Wiesen und Felder. Mit dem Auto ist man schnell am Meer und auch viele sehenswerte kleine Städtchen befinden sich in dierekter Umgebung. Uns hat der Aufenthalt dort sehr gefallen.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans la maison de Céline. Elle a été très réactive et agréable lors de nos échanges. La maison bénéficie d’un cadre calme et reposant avec une jolie vue sur la campagne. Le bord de mer n’est vraiment pas loin ce qui nous a permis d’en profiter tous les jours. La maison est fonctionnelle et il y avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Quelques toiles d’araignées a notre arrivée mais dans l’ensemble la maison était propre.

Der einzige „Kritikpunkt“, wenn überhaupt, war die für unsere Verhältnisse sehr langsame Anbindung ans Internet (<16Mbit/s übers WLAN). Dies kann aber vernachlässigt werden. Der Kontakt mit unserer Gastgeberin Céline war ebenfalls immer sehr gut und Fragen wurden zeitnah beantwortet.

Traumhaft schön
Ein sehr schönes Haus, toll gelegen und mit dem Auto 12 Minuten zu Omaha Beach. Unser Hund fand das Grundstück auch toll, viel Platz zum toben. Und der Kontakt zu den Vermietern war schnell, unkompliziert und sehr, sehr freundlich. Wofür die Vermieter nichts konnten: die vor uns dort wohnten waren leider unsauber, dafür konnten die Reinigungskräfte nichts, manche Verstecke für Hinterlassenschaften waren zu gut. Wir haben das schnell nachgereicht und gut war. Alles in Allem ein ehrliches, tolles Haus, wir haben uns zu Hause gefühlt.

Propreté générale superficielle
Le gîte par lui-même est spacieux dans un environnement calme et reposant. Toutefois, nous sommes déçus de l'état général de propreté (y compris la vaisselle, et les draps) qui est succinct, d'autant plus que nous sommes en période de pandémie. Egalement, problèmes de sécurité (prises de courant détériorées etc...) Le prix de la location n'est pas justifié par rapport à la prestation générale offerte. Les frais de ménage en sus sont injustifiés. Habitués à louer en gîte depuis des années, c'est la première fois que nous rencontrons ce genre de soucis.

Gemütliches und tolles Haus
Ich habe fünf Tage in diesem Haus verbracht. Es ist sehr gemütlich und alles vorhanden. Terrasse und Garten, alles so wie beschrieben, für mich sehr wichtig, da ich mit einem Hund angereist bin. Aufgrund der Jahreszeit war es sehr kalt, aber gerade der untere Bereich war sehr schnell aufgeheizt und warm. Das Bad und die Dusche wurden anscheinend renoviert und sind in einem einwandfreien Zustand. Alles ist ausreichend vorhanden und die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem kann ich dieses Haus nur weiterempfehlen. Die Lage zur Küste ist perfekt, 10 Minuten zum Omaha Beach. Einkaufmöglichkeiten sind auch in 15 Minuten zu erreichen in Bayeux. Sollte ich nochmals in die Normandie fahren, werde ich sicherlich wieder hier anfragen. Schöne Grüße
