This hotel is located in a very beautiful place, it has nice backyard and swimming pool/sauna! Breakfast is good, especially their tea selection. Hospitality is ok, but noone is going above and beyond to assist you. Two main things that really bother! First is that they don’t have 24 hours reception - receptionist leaves at 10 pm and there is no one who can help you with anything after that time. Even at check out we got in little trouble: we were leaving at 7:30 am (which is not too early) and heading straight to airport (so we did not have any extra (free) time to wait) - there were no receptionist at reception at that moment… ;( And second - they have Nothing to drink! There is no tea/coffee station in the lobby, no even water. On the top of that there are no kettle or coffee maker in the room. It was very unpleasant because my kids got thirsty before bedtime when all stores/restaurants were already closed, and even hotel reception was closed as well. When I complained about that on the next day they told me that “oh, you can come to reception anytime (anytime is already not true) and we will make you a tea”. Ok, we tried that one time and they changed us 8Euro for that ;0 Overall it is a good hotel with spacious and clean rooms, it just needs some adjustments.

When we arrived there was no one at the front desk, then the lady that showed up said she is not trained to check people. It took a while before we were checked in. The room was not what we had paid for but we figured it is just for one night. After going to the pool wanted to take a shower, cold water was not working. So we had to change room. She gave us two card to go down to the bar, had a beer and Jin tonic she said that was more than what the coupons were good for so the rest will be charged to our room. The first room was in horrible shape the second one is a little better. It is a big hotel with maybe ten rooms occupied. Just do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.

Quaint Bavarian Hotel
A quaint Bavarian style hotel, Ettal is a small village so there aren’t many things to do there, but the hotel is right next to a bus stop.

Nice stay overall but our downstairs neighbor were talking loud and laughing loud at 11:30pm-midnight. Well we had to close balcony door even though it was warm in the rooms keep the noise out.

Bavarian Style
This hotel has a beautiful view of Ettal Abbey. It’s very close to Linderhof Castle. (One of my favorites!) Very Bavarian decor and bedding. Breakfast was incredible!

The hotel was convenient but I did not get the room requested. I booked a suite and the hotel put us in a handicap suite. I asked for an alternate option but all they had was a view of a crane. The hotel finally put us in a downgraded comfort room with was 30 Euros cheaper but refused to reduce the rate because I booked they Expedia so we paid for the suite and stayed in a regular room.
