Good first: the bed was SO comfortable omg. I wanted to bring it home with me! the upgrade due to the confusing check in was very nice and appreciated.
Ok: the room was lovely and at least one of the windows opened with wooden shades that were easy to block light - but no fan so the room was too warm all night
Not good: the separate bathroom was not obvious from booking - it was ok, but I hadn't brought PJs bc it didn't occur to me - so walking around in the hall in the middle of the night when I knew there was a humorless man staying there also was weird - it is listed, but #8 or so on a list of 12 'amenities' for the rooms that you have to click on the individual rooms and read down to find.
Personally annoying but might not have bothered others: i had driven for 6 hours and was tired, and when i called to be let in, the owner who's phone is listed 'doesn't answer it much,' and the lovely son who does all the work was on site but very much busy with renovations, maybe not ideal but i do understand their hands-off business model.
Preference of mine: super weird that a cute house with a full kitchen serves zero breakfast and has a keurig coffee situation and no plain black tea. If you'd like more personal service, food, good coffee, and a more upscale vibe, i'd try the house/inn a block over. I hope some day they have more native bird/bee friendly landscaping also.
