a nice connect to nature
I was looking for a nice get away and disconnect. I have stayed at a yurt before but this was first class. Much thought and detail was it into this location. This is the way to connect to nature without any discomfort!

First Yurt Experience
It was very unique. Some small issues as usual. The inside doorknob was not attached so it fell off every time the door was used. If you take a pet, there is no grassy area close by to take them out. The stairs to the loft are steep, be aware when using. These could be a challenge for some. and pets cannot easily climb.

Home away from home!
This was a new experience for us, and we are happy we booked it! They had everything we needed during our stay! The yurt decor was adorable! Everything was super clean! If I am ever in the area visiting again, I’d definitely book a stay at the Bee Hive!

Mountain High
The yurt was so cool! Loved the sky light, wrap-a-round porch, hot tub, sound of rain, starry nights and view. Enjoyed a fabulous Galax Fiddlers convention while visiting. Would definitely come back for more visits.

Wish we could have stayed longer!!
The Yurt was amazing with great amenities. The worse thing was we were only able to stay a night as we traveled through. I would recommend staying to anyone interested! I know it may sound weird but hopefully you get to enjoy the soothing rain hitting the roof in the evening.

Perfect place to get away
What a great place for a short, relaxing vacation! The yurt is quite spacious and comfortable on the inside--perfect for a family of 4 and complete with dog water/food bowls. It is like a large tent, so if there are guests staying at the 2 neighboring yurts, you will hear them. The location is close to several hiking trails and good (but not fancy) restaurants. We would love to stay here again if we are in the area!

A Delightful Alternative to a Motel
My wife and I stayed at the Yurt while traveling down I81 and I-77 from Baltimore to South Carolina. The Yurt has all the conveniences of home and is a welcomed alternative to the typical roadside motels. We had an issue with the door lock (operator error). The owner answered my call and walked me through the problem. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Perfect place to get away
We only had 1 night as we were traveling to Carolina beach, but the experience was amazing for the short time we had. My wife and I already decided that we are definitely coming back for a longer stay. So peaceful and well thought out with the build and all the amenities.

Cute Yurts
Loved our stay at the yurt! Great property once inside the yurt. Unfortunately it was a muddy mess due to 4-5 days of straight rain. Beautiful bathroom.

Charming country retreat
The yurt was very charming, decorated with attention to detail. Great retreat for a family of 3. We appreciate the sightseeing recommendations offered by the hosts. Communication with the host was excellent, with immediate responses. The size of the bathroom pleasantly surprised us, given the size of the yurt - great way to upscale the accommodations. The AC unit was well equipped to warm up the space, which is a big plus for this type of accommodations. The fire pit and availability of the firewood was a great addition to our experience. The yurt had a wonderful view. The only minus was the quality of the bed mattress, it was not very comfortable for us. We would recommend this yurt to our friends.

Unique and amazing experience
This property was so amazing…clean and well stocked for most any need. Charcoal grill, fire pit, huge soaking tub and every detail of decorating made the “beehive” a first class experience. From the moon overhead visible through the glass dome over the bed, to the falling leaves as we sat on the patio for coffee, this short vacation for solitude and a moment of quiet peacefulness was fabulous. We don’t revisit places typically but this place will be a definite revisit. Highly recommend!!! :-))))))

Amazing place!
Absolutely loved this place!!!! I enjoyed staying here more than any other place I’ve ever rented. The Bee Hive was super cute, clean, peaceful, and comfortable. The enclosed porch was very helpful with my four legged baby! And my teenage son and nephew loved the loft… we enjoyed having access to the fire pit and grill. I definitely look forward to staying next time I visit family in the area again!

Amazing retreat, worth the effort to get to!
We were very impressed with the yurt! The location itself is nice, however getting to the yurt can be interesting depending on what you're driving, and from which direction you take getting there. Most main roads getting there are paved (but narrow). Carrollview is a dirt/light gravel road. The driveway getting to the yurt is new enough that the gravel is somewhat loose on entry, and Carrollview gets quite steep there, so lots of spinout divots to navigate. We were driving a medium size 4WD SUV and pulling a small open motorcycle trailer. If we hugged the hill, it left room for access to the third yurt. If the tenants of the first yurt weren't parked properly, it completely blocked access to the middle yurt (The Bee Hive). Recommend meeting your neighbors and make sure they know where to park :) There's not a ton of room to turn a vehicle around, so plan ahead, especially when towing. We loved the deck(s)! One wraps around the yurt, the other is under the main deck and creates a nice semi-covered area to get our of the sun or rain. Falling rain creates a nice sound on the yurt. I imagine in a heavy downpoor it would get quite loud. We will definitely be back!! Stacy & Kelly Durham, NC
