Gabe and Pear Tree Inn are 10 out of 10
My girlfriend and I had a four day roadtrip from California to Illinois and The Pear Tree was the best hotel we stayed at. The front desk attendant Gabe was very knowledgeable and professional when checking us in and answering any questions we had. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for about a decade and was really impressed with Gabe and the hotel. Would stay here again if we ever have the chance to come back through town

Bed was uncomfortable. Charged $50 plus tax for 2 dogs, plus a refundable $50 deposit to be returned in a few days. Breakfast just ok, mostly continental style. Not worth the cost of the stay.

Only problem we had was air conditioner never cooled room below 77 entire time we were in the there. Went to the front desk and they told us it had a motion sensor on the thermostat and we had to keep moving for it to stay on. We tried and it felt like it was just blowing out hot air, just slept on top of the blankets.

Room had a mildew/moldy smell in it. It was hard to breathe due to the smell. We were moved to a 2nd room after front desk staff tried to make it better. The 2nd room smelled better but when I pulled back the covers to get in the bed, there were moving bugs in it. I video recorded it and showed at the front desk. She then transferred us to Drury next door. It was really late into the night and my traveling partner and I were tired and ready to rest. I had a long day of work. We transfer to drury and was charged a 2nd deposit fee to stay in that room. When I pulled back the covers there were long dark black hair on the white sheets, I was so exhausted after working all day and trying to just laying down and sleep that I picked the hairs off the sheets and layed down. I just decided at that point that the location and hotel were not for me and I would not recommend or stay there again

The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The hotel is close to the interstate making it easy to get to and is about 20 minutes from downtown St Louis so the city is not to far away but still far enough away to feel safer in this area. There are places to eat and convenience stores close by for food and snacks.
