We are retirees that needed a place to stay while our new townhome is being completed. This worked for the two of us plus our 25 lb. dog.
As others have said in the reviews, the stairs are difficult, especially if you have any kind of mobility difficulties. There are stairs when you enter the house into the garage, and then steep stairs going up into the unit. There are stairs outside going from the deck down into the backyard, which are very steep as well.
The backyard is fenced in, but there are many gaps around the fence that a little dog could get through, so be very careful. Also, the property is large, and the mowers show up once a week unannounced, so don't leave your dog in the backyard. Be sure to check the gate when they leave, as I found it to be open every time they finished and left.
The house is on a very busy street, so you need to be very careful if you walk your dog on a leash in the front, or if you have small children. It is a straight road, and people go much faster than the speed limit there. State troopers do patrol and ticket speeders which is good, so be careful in that area.
We never met our host, but he responded to messages quickly most of the time.
This rental is a good place especially for visiting the various colleges in the area. It is very easy access to all the surrounding towns and cities.
