Hoh Chalet A cozy cabin on the Olympic Peninsula

The Hoh Chalet is a cozy cabin located on the Olympic Peninsula in the Hoh River Basin. It is heated with a woodstove and has spiral stairs to get up to both bedrooms. Pictures of stairs are in additional photos in this listing.

The space
The Chalet is a small cabin, just 400 sq ft per floor. It is an independant home and is powered by solar energy. The inside is DIY finished with repurposed materials. Only the appliances are new.
This two-story cabin has 2 bedrooms upstairs with a double bed in each and a desk in the hall. The entry level has a kitchenette, bathroom, dining area and common area with a hide-a-bed in the sitting room. It is heated with a woodstove; firewood, cable TV, and Wi-Fi are provided.

Guest access
There is plenty of parking, with a carport for smaller vehicles. You are welcome to walk down the road, and tour our property. We have a berry farm and U-Pick berries starting in late June as well as a grocery garden, and a path through our wooded area. A large communal fire pit is located behind our retail shack where Hoh Made Jam, Native Hoh River Smoked Salmon, and local arts and crafts are available.
Other things to note
Access to the upper floor is via a spiral staircase. If you have small children or do not do stairs easily, this may not be for you.
Pets are allowed, but they may not be left unattended.

Unique and Wonderful Stay
The owner of this property has created an amazing cabin that is totally unique, artistic and fun! She met us upon check-in to answer questions and make sure that we knew how to work the stove, etc., and was available if we had any questions. The home has everything that you need, and it is just a short drive away from Ruby Beach, where there is a camp store where you can get supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

Cute little chalet!
Adorable little chalet just perfect for a couple day getaway. Fair warning, the stairs up to the bedrooms are steep & narrow and the only source of heat is the wood burning stove, but neither of these things took away anything from our stay! Diane was wonderful & came over to show us how to use the stove.

Charming cabin close to the action
It was nice to stay in Diane’s sustainable cabin that is close to the beaches and the Hoh rainforest. Explore the local shop on the property and mingle with the dogs / cats. Beds are a bit noisy and the hot water a bit of a challenge but beats a tent and sleeping bag! Diane was a great host and excellent communicator.

Unique, fun, funky and friendly handmade home on the Hoh.
A totally authentic and unique funky and fun stay. The owner was delightful, inviting us to pick berries from her garden and even bringing hot berry cobbler to our cabin one night. The only downside was how close it was to the highway, but then again, 5 minutes to Ruby Beach! A must for architecture students.

The cabin was perfectly located for our stay and was very nice. The only thing I can say is the stairs are very steep and could use a little more lighting. I would certainly stay again

Great escape!
The “chalet” is quite rustic but it’s awe inspiring that the owner built the cabin by hand with reclaimed parts for everything. It’s self-sustaining and is minutes from Ruby Beach and the rainforest. We loved the charm and property and would definitely stay again. Thank you!
