The Cullen's Clair de Lune, River-front Estate

Welcome to Clair de Lune estate, a private resort-like retreat reminiscent of the iconic riverside Cullen estate of the “Twilight” series. The estate is uniquely situated with direct access to picturesque low bank riverfront on the pristine glacier fed Sol Duc River in Forks, Washington. The setting provides a perfect romantic getaway for couples and honeymooners, family reunions, weddings, fishing enthusiasts, or a multi-family vacation stay with plenty of room, interests, and fun for children.

It's that rainforest wonderland time of year. Please send us a quick message and ask us about our highly discounted winter rates beyond what the listing shows! We welcome you to appreciate the classy elegance of the Cullen family. Peruse the family photo album, see character wardrobe adorning each closet, learn a bit about the iconic characters that put Forks on the map, play the Cullen's 1920s baby grand piano and hear the sounds of a bygone era wash over you upon your arrival. This location is ideally situated for convenient access to the many splendid attractions of the Olympic National Park and Olympic Peninsula. The home is only 3 minutes to town, 20 minutes to Rialto Beach, 45 minutes to the Hoh Rainforest, and 25 minutes to Lake Crescent. The estate has been conceived, designed, and created to immerse our guests in the essential Pacific Northwest experience, from the convenience and comfort of your own lodgings. So you just might decide not to go anywhere else.

The property offers intimate exposure to the teeming flora and fauna of the great Pacific Northwest. Enjoy a wide open view of the river and surrounds from the balcony perched above a landscaped terrace. In the summer months, take a short stroll to the river bank and lounge in comfortable Adirondack furniture next to a bright and cheery fire pit. The Sol Duc River is a premiere fishing destination. In season, salmon and steelhead may be seen sounding, jumping, and fanning their tails to clear gravel away from their spawning beds in the crystal clear water. Eagles glide overhead, hunting along the river, otters frolic near the banks, hummingbirds and kingfishers dart about among blue jays, yellow finch, and other colorful bird species. Deer frequently forage along the banks, and, occasionally, majestic Olympic elk may ford the river before you.

The grounds are centered on 2 acres of manicured lawns and woodland, accented with birch and cedar trees and carefully landscaped with a variety of native plant species selected to harmonize with the native rainforest habitat. Behind the house is a small private park flaunting an 8-person cedar barrel sauna with a large viewport onto the river to steam away stress and make ready the weary traveler for a restful and relaxed night's sleep. In the evening, the landscape is accented with subdued garden and walkway lights so guests can stroll about and enjoy the grounds in safety and comfort.

The space
The interior of the home has been completely remodeled and appointed for comfort with a stylish rustic ambiance. There is new wood and porcelain flooring and granite surfaces in the kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms. The living room, kitchen, and master bedroom offer walls of windows with spectacular views of the river. Central heat and air provide for year-round comfort.

You will arrive to a breakfast ready for preparation next morning. Expect a fresh fruit bowl, treat basket with breakfast cookies, popcorn, tea, coffee, and fresh eggs in the fridge. The fully stocked kitchen will satisfy the expectations of even the most fastidious chef. The kitchen features a large farmer’s sink and a smaller bar sink in the island.
There are also a large refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, dishwasher, microwave, crock pot, countertop pancake griddle and plenty of open cabinet space. There is even a roasting pan if you feel like Roast Rosemary Chicken. Dine outside; sip morning coffee or BBQ fresh salmon on the terrace above the river. Perhaps savor a glass of wine as the river murmurs and whispers to you in the quiet tranquility of the twilight hours.

The upstairs living room is complete with a 40 inch smart TV, a queen sleeper/sofa with chaise lounge, and wood stove for ambiance. The family room downstairs offers a 70 inch smart TV for larger than life entertainment, a large, plush sectional couch, and another wood stove. Starter logs are provided on request. There are also outdoor Bluetooth speakers on the terrace to accommodate personal music preferences. The spacious master bedroom features a luxurious king size bed and Jacuzzi bath. The 2 guest bedrooms offer comfy queen size beds. Fans, heaters, and extra blankets are provided for each bedroom.

Also included are a spacious laundry room with washer, dryer, laundry baskets, collapsible clothesline, detergent, and iron/ironing board. Baby and toddler gear are provided plus plenty of extra sleeping space. A covered parking breezeway for 2 vehicles and a large, uncovered parking area are available for additional vehicles. The downstairs closet is full of entertainment: croquet, badminton, fully stocked picnic basket, games, movies, books, life vests, and beach towels for river fun.

Coming soon! Esme has been busy redesigning Edward and Bella's room into a quaint entertaining bar room since Edward and Bella are now living in their cottage. They invite you, at the end of November, to enjoy a fully appointed indoor bar with open access to the back terrace and river. The bar will include an additional queen sleeper/sofa for yet more comfortable sleeping space.

2nd family stay at this lovely home
This was our 2nd stay here with a large family group - perfect for a family gathering with all ages of adults and kids. Room to spread out. The house is well appointed with thoughtful details…. breakfast & snacks, spices, s’mores long handled forks, firewood and the location is beautiful, right on the river. We saw Eagles and river otters. This was a nice spot to relax and make dinner in the evening. The host was quick to respond to questions and concerns. We’d definitely stay here again. Everyone loved it!

We loved this property. The setting and gardens, the cleanliness, the supplies, your responsiveness. There were a couple Things that might have been better—I believe one set of sheets was not there but we made do—u said u would Bring more but by the time I saw that message we were set up. Blow up for toddler bed set Up would have been nice. Problems: the drier does not dry very well. I believe the vents need a good cleaning. And there definirlrely is a mold problem in the lower level. It did not bother those who stayed there but i could not have slept there. So this will need attention. Still, We had a great time and I appreciate the care u take with the place. Where do we see your review of us? Sorry I can’t delete the next few words. 🙃u take with the place. were set up

Beautiful property in Forks
This property is absolutely gorgeous. We wanted a place to stay in Forks to visit the western and northern parts of the Olympic National Park and I’m so glad we found this place (there is slim pickings in Forks!). The house is on a beautiful property next to a gorgeous river that is accessible. The place is very clean and has everything you would need. The owners are very nice and responsive and left us a fresh fruit basket and provisions to make s’mores, which we did in their fire pit outback overlooking the river. There was also plenty of keurig coffee and some snacks. Overall, We really enjoyed this property!

This house is perfect!
Everything about this house was perfect for our five night stay - the well stocked kitchen, the appropriate number of beds for eight of us, and we especially loved the new basement bar which we used every night. It’s in a perfect location for day trips to the Hoh rainforest, beach hikes and Cape Flattery. We spent lots of time on the second floor deck, and also outside of the bar area. We loved the sauna! Jerry was very responsive to any questions or needs that we had. I hope we can return someday!

Family trip to Olympic National Park
House was just as described. Beautiful setting overlooking the Sol Duc River - kids and adults loved watching the river otters and the peaceful sounds of the river. Breakfast and fruit were provided which was such a nice touch, especially since we arrived late in the evening. We’ve stayed at a number of rentals and I can honestly say this house had the nicest, and most well thought out amenities (little things like spices and marshmallow roasters forks, even extra fire wood for the fire pit…. all make a difference). Very comfortable for our family of 10 adults and 3 kids w/ space enough for everyone to have some privacy. Our only regret was we didn’t have time to stay an extra night.

Absolutely perfect!
Family w two adult children on an Olympic Park tour, we stayed for a few nights as a base to explore. This place is perfect in every way - beautiful, new, in terrific shape. Location on the river is amazing to watch from the back patio or from inside the sauna (really!). Location to Forks for supplies/food and outings to the beach and park hikes was perfect. And the hospitality was the best we have had (in dozens of house rentals over the years) with excellent communication and wonderful fruit and breakfast treats provided, among other useful items (K cups, tea and cocoa, butter, condiments that most rentals overlook). Space inside is great for coming together and playing a game, or sitting apart reading a book. We didn’t use the new basement bar but is very cool and well done. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you for sharing this amazing place!

We loved the home, the river, the sauna! It worked out perfectly for our group of 6, with space to entertain extended family staying at hotels nearby. We would definitely recommend. Only downside is they don’t recycle much in Washington, and I struggle with tossing recycling in the trash, but that’s not specific to this property.

This home is beautifully kept. It was clean, beds were comfy and we really loved the location for spectacular hikes in the Hoh Rainforest and coastal beaches of Olympic National Park. My sons enjoyed the stream access and morning sauna. The wonderful yard landscaping and view from the porch were lovely and restful. Forks has several good restaurants and the most AMAZING grocery store. We also enjoyed the people in Forks. So friendly and helpful. Very welcoming. We would stay here again. wonderful stay
Overall, we were very happy with this rental. On the positive side, the location was beautiful and excellent for exploring the west side of Olympic National Park with great access to the rainforest and the beaches. The owners were very generous in supplying breakfast foods and snacks. The kitchen was very well equipped, including a full complement of spices which pleased the cook in our family. On the less positive side, the house is advertised for 13 people. There are 3 bedrooms and there were 6 of us, but the dining table seated only 6, so I'm glad there were not more of us. Check in was a little uneven due to a slight miscommunication regarding the time the house would be ready . We were repeatedly told that all communication should be done through the VRBO site, but it repeatedly did not function. Fortunately, the host was readily available for back up. Overall, we were very happy, and the only thing the prevented a 5 star rating was the fact that this rental seemed expensive and I don't think it was a great value. On the other hand, It appeared to be the best option in the Forks area.

Wonderful property on Sol Duc River where your whole family can relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. We spent hours sitting outside on the deck and by the river listening to the flowing water and every now and then we would spot an Eagle or two fly overhead.
