The Drift Hotel is one of the last few boutique hotels left on the strip in Fort Lauderdale for a decent price. They have everything you need and all within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and restaurants.

Budget friendly but thin walls. You hear everything from upstairs and around you. Trigger warning: you hear EVERYTHING. Obviously they can't control what other guests do in their rooms but its not an experience I ever want to experience again.

Had to change the original room they had me in because it smelled like moldy lead paint, and being on the first floor, finding the windows wouldn't lock was not going to happen. They kindly put me upstairs and the windows worked, but again, it smelled like moldy lead paint, I left the windows open to try to air it out. The courtyard had people early in the very morning chilling out speaking loudly and I had to ask staff to have them be quiet because they kept waking me up. There's construction on two high rises across the street and that woke me up a few days too, but obviously not the hotel's fault. It's a block from the beach I wanted to frequent, and that's why I chose Drift, but next time I'll spend a little more and stay at somewhere else. All the staff I encountered were very friendly.

This is my second time staying here and it was good. The staff was very nice. They allowed us to check in early, which was great! Since it was Thanksgiving, there was no construction noise from across the street from high rise condo’s that are being built. Room we had this time was a King suite, large shower was nice. No coffee in the room but the office has coffee available if you want it. Beach is right down the street, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance. I would stay again!

Quiet and friendly
Not meant for the people expecting top notch first class service. This is a family owned and run business. Very hard working family that is more than happy to help with any issues you may have. They do have beach towels and several chairs to bring to beach. Coffee and microwave are located in the office for use. Very quiet place to stay

Run down but great location.
Room had mildew and smelt of mold. I believe we overpaid for what we got. The motel is right near the beach and had a great location. Would suggest getting dehumidifiers in each room.

This was a very surprising stay. I did not expect much but I must say the staff is soooo nice and super accommodating. Specifically the guy that is there in the morning/day time at the front desk, he was sooo thoughtful. Also helpful when I needed anything (an iron, fresh water, late check out/early check in). Most of all the experience of being able to walk down the block and be at the beach was so nice. And to be walking distance from every type of food is so clutch. Honorable mentions, the guy that is at the desk at night is really nice too, and the cleaning ladies were sooo nice! Overall such a great experience.

The property was amazing, although I will say the ceiling was green in some spots and there was construction across the road. (Which isn’t their fault) over all it was lovely and close to the beach!

Do Not Recommend For Anyone
Very disappointed in this property. As soon as we walked in the office and saw the condition it was in I wish we would have turned right around. Very old building that is not well maintained. Room had a very odd smell, our feet turned black after walking barefoot on the floor and tv was stuck on a connect to internet screen and the front desk didn’t know how to fix it. Lamps at the bedside did not work, no washcloths in the bathroom and water in the shower was scorching hot. Would not recommend this to anyone trying to relax after a nice day in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale.
