This is great for accessibility to Enchanted Rock and the views. If you're OK with a very rustic experience in an aesthetically external setting, go for it. The facility is charming as a whole, and the people at the property are kind and accommodating. The facilities themselves need attention, however, and it's pretty conspicuous: our bathroom door wouldn't close (no closing mechanism installed); the door to our room was barely secure; none of the remote controls for heat/air conditioning units activated any of the machines they were supposed to be connected with (even after shifting batteries); there was suspicious electrical and HVAC work in many places. Some careful attention to finishings would make the place remarkable, but our room wasn't quite there.
It’s nice and quiet out there. Especially at night it’s lovely. I really enjoyed the drive to and from town.
The WIFI was out the time we went so just be mindful of losing signal out there. FYI for guest staying in Room #4 in particular, it’s close quarters there. Especially the shower. Other than that staff there was very nice. It has a small town Italian feel to it like your walking the streets of Italy. Other guest there were very pleasant to be around and the whole lay out of the property was very unique in itself.
I love the view by going on the second floor. I can see all over town. Great picture scenery. My only issue is there is no service up there and my room was too far from the wifi. So i can't do anything with my phone or computer. Besides that, excellent design.
My wife and I stayed at Troise for our wedding anniversary, the property is outdated BUT , that’s what makes it amazing , it’s an old Mexican village type property , all the people that work there make you feel at home. Fredericksburg is just 20-25 mins away. Highly recommended. We’ll sure go back soon.
Beautiful place. The staff was very friendly and they made us feel at home. They work very hard to provide a great experience. The location is perfect if you are looking at visiting Enchanted Rock. We could have easily just stayed in and not go anywhere else during our stay. Very relaxing atmosphere and away from the busy town. Highly recommended.
In general its was fun and good the rooms was cool the A/C was working great. My only flaw was the WIFI Not working in rooms you have to go outside to use phones.

The site was very aged, the breakfast was nice. Our room had lots crickets inside and out. To check in the young lady was very sweet and helpful.
This is a truly relaxing and magical place to visit and stay at. The owner and her staff are amazing, kind, and hospitable people. I can't think of a better place to recommend. The breakfast food and dinner food is quality and made love. We also met an amazing group of people who were staying there as well the same weekend! Will be returning!

The staff was superb and very nice! The hotel had a nostalgic charm, but it felt like it hadn't been maintained or updated in quite some time. While it must have been beautiful in its prime, there were noticeable signs of neglect that made the experience feel less than ideal. Our bridal suite was dark but beautiful and bed was very soft. Some led candles would have made it more romantic and not so spooky. Yes I will return in hopes of some renovations and better upkeep of the estate because it is so beautiful. I want to return with my family..
This is a genuinely special property. Set within a beautiful landscape, close by to Enchanted Rock, the property adds something special to a trip. The room was intimate but clean and well equipped. The outdoor pool is small but quiet. The indoor pool is so interesting and unique, set within a cave. The breakfast was good and the restaurant options for dinner too looked good. The staff are very friendly and are on hand to facilitate experiences within the property or state park that are on offer. The lodge was a cool setting and had a pool table, plenty of seating, coffee facilities and TV, all free to use. I would imagine this place as perfect for group events as well as smaller ones or pairs. If you need a place to stay near the state park or you're coming through the area, take advantage of this spot.
Heaven on Earth and in the middle of Texas ! This place is truly a paradise, one of a kind experience.
Keith and the entire team was wonderful. We got a chance to have a soundbath by Keith in the grotto pool and the same evening we spent a few hours with Eddie, the astronomer watching the stars through his telescope.
The place is just 3 min away from The Enchanted Rock. Absolutely must visit !
Much much love and gratitude to the whole team that takes care of the place and guests: Keith, Veronica, Brenda, Jess and the gentleman that cooked delicious breakfast.
I stayed in the grotto suite and loved the space. There was a beautiful view, it was peaceful and quiet and the staff were all very nice. I’ll definitely be going back.
Our stay was one night, stopping for what we thought would be a nice experience before heading home. The grotto was probably the best and only memorable experience. The room was adequate in square ft. but the furniture was massive and overpowering in my opinion taking from the beauty of the room. Nice clean towels and linens. I believe at one time it was a beautiful B&B , for know it seems worn down, outdated. Owners were not inviting or personable. Honestly the place needs a breath of fresh air, energy and life. Would I visit again probably not.. If anyone plans to give it a go I would recommend insect repellent, picnic basket or charcuterie trays along with your beverage of choice for any night's stay Sun-Thurs. Knowing ahead of time might have made our stay a little better.
