Beautiful historic hotel at corner of Bourbon street. Paid extra for a room with a window looking out to courtyard. Plantation blinds were broken and always down. Peeking thru I saw an hvac unit and overgrown vines and a courtyard in the distance. King Room is extremely small. Literally fits a king bed and small end table. Outlets were stripped and charger kept falling out of outlet. No place to open suitcase aside from bed. Small suitcase holder in closet but if you took it out you couldn’t walk past bed. Literally a 10 x 10 box with a newer tv and nicely decorated bathroom. Hallway to bathroom was so tight you could touch walls with your elbows if you put your arms up. There’s one guest elevator - 3 long hallways away from our room. We had a room on the far side near service elevator and it was noisy and busy from 3:30 to 5 am daily. We opted to walk up and down grand staircase to get to front door. Booked a package on Expedia thinking it was a better deal. Ended up paying $75 more per night than the going rate. (We asked at front desk). Very kind helpful staff. Coffee each morning off lobby was delicious. Didn’t eat at restaurant. Not much of a selection. We used uber as there’s almost never a cab out front. Hotel is long way on Orleans Ave and the bar has an entrance on Bourbon. That was convenient. You don’t hear the riff raff from nightly partiers. Walk out the main entrance to the left you are literally at the back end of Jackson square.

The valet parking was $50, but in/out privileges were allowed. Very efficient system. Just text and they let you know when your car will be at the front door. Usually only 15min. Corner of Orleans Street and Bourbon Street, easy to walk to many things.

Where to start? Everything was wonderful right from the start and on such a difficult day for the city too. We arrived NY Day after the horrible attack in the French Quarter. Everyone was at the top of their game though and so friendly. I could not have asked for a better experience.

The only good things about The Bourbon Orleans was the location and the friendly staff. Upon arrival I was hit with an outrageous resort fee in addition to the daily hotel fee that I was already paying. The resort fee gave me access to the gym, the outdoor heated pool, unlimited coffee and water. These are things all being standard in most hotels. The pool was cold and when I complained, I was told it was like that for several days. There was no water in the room when I arrived, it took anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes for the water in the shower to warm up, the cleaning staff made the beds but Never vacuumed the room.

I have been a frequent visitor to NOLA for decades now and generally stayed in another hotel. But due to accessible needs for our daughter, I had visited this hotel on our last visit and found it would accommodate those needs. When I reserved the room for NYE and paid all up front, non refundable, I made several calls to double check the rooms and I had specific ones reserved. Upon arrival the front desk did not show that and I had to go over all of the requests again. They were able to fix the issue, but it should not have been one. Location is very good to the Quarter and overall, a nice hotel. We did not have hot water for our entire stay and was offered little assistance with bags, as we have to travel with some extra, plus equipment. I do realize this comes from our perspective from our needs. Again, good location. A French Quarter style hotel. But average in bed comfort and service.

The Best Hotel in the French Quarter!
I love visiting New Orleans during NYE and I can honestly say that the best place to stay is Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It’s conveniently centered in the French Quarter and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The rooms with the balcony are worth it and the noise is not too bad at night. Staff was friendly and service was great. The hotel itself has rich history and has been renovated several times. I didn’t know this at first, however, it is known to be a “haunted” hotel. I’ve stayed here several times and can’t say I’ve encountered anything myself.

When I booked the Bourbon Orleans Hotel for a quick Christmas getaway, I was sold by the photos. When I checked in, I was taken by the ambiance: located in the heart of the city, many of the must-see attractions within walking distance, the lobby entrance—white walls and checkered floors of smooth tile, chandeliers starbursting with light, a magnificent twinkling Christmas tree populated with bulbs large and presents high—possessing the urbanity you'd imagine from a hotel set amongst such venerated history. This is where the magic ended. Upon exiting the elevator and making it to my room, I requested from housekeeping extra towels that I never received. That night to wash up, I discovered the shower door (nor the curtain) closed any further than halfway and had to MacGyver a method to keep precious heat from escaping. The following morning, I headed downstairs expecting breakfast. The cook had yet to prepare a morsel of food (that is, by the way, not complimentary) at 8:00 a.m. I got dressed and attempted to set out for the day only to wait 20 minutes for valet to bring my car around. Do not be bewitched by the magic of the Bourbon Orleans. It is decorated with promises unkept and service that leaves much to be desired.
