We were situated on the mountain above the river with trees all around. There were so many amazing wineries within a 30 minute drive. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing week

Roomy Riverview Cabin
Enjoyed our visit. Location was great, secluded and private. Great for our 2 small chihuahuas. Did miss the beautiful view of the mountains that we had while staying at the other two cabins.

Pretty nice, but a few cleanliness issues
Overall this is a decent cabin. Couldn't see the river too well from the cabin; maybe the view is better in the Fall. The main issue I had was the sheets had a musty smell. Also, for as much as the instructions say to leave the place clean, the dishes did not appear to be cleaned very well by the previous visitors. I also think some of the pots and pans are due to be replaced. That being said, I appreciated the quiet location and the rustic feel of the place. A nice place to put my feet up after a day hiking in Shenandoah.

Great location
We had a great time staying at the riverside cabin. It’s in a great location really close to a raft rental location, SkyLine Drive, and Front Royal. Close by you have Luray Caverns. The area is well shaded and has gravel roads. It’s a cabin so don’t expect perfection but it has everything that you need. We spent some great family quality time at the cabin and visiting local attractions and restaurants.

River Cabin
This is a nice cabin overlooking the river. It is very peaceful even considering nearby railroad. We didn't have much of a chance to enjoy the property because it rained most of the time we were there.

Loved this cabin
My wife and I stay in cabins often and this is by far one of the tops cabins we have ever been in. Overlooks the river from many view points, including the front porch. Easy parking, great fire pit, and it actually had a yard!

Great location!
We loved the seclusion of this cabin - easy to get to but it was far enough away from other cabins on the property to feel like we were by ourselves. Very cozy and we loved the fireplace!

Peace and serenity
This is a very well appointed cabin. It has a nice rustic feel, is very comfortable and very nicely located. It is secluded and has a nice open area and welcoming feel. R stone wood burning fireplace give a real sense of nostalgia and is a really excellent smenity. The cabin is just outside of the town of Front Royal, with easy access to national and state parks. We really enjoyed our stay.

Rustic Privacy
This property was as advertised. It is rustic but clean with up to date amenities. We especially appreciated the remote feel of the property while still being close to town. I removed 1 star for cleanliness because we had to clean the fireplace before using and we felt the coffee maker needed cleaning before we would use it. A quick run to town for vinegar allowed us to easily clean it up. Also, kitchen plates, utensils and flatware were fine but the commonly used pans were not. All in all, highly recommended if you like rustic feel with privacy in the woods.

Nice little getaway a few steps off the beaten path
This, rustic little cabin offered a quiet get away a few steps off of the beaten path. It was close to a grocery store and several dining options. There was plenty of firewood for a cozy fire. The Wi-Fi and dish TV were a plus.

Rainy getaway
A little bummed because we planned to hike and spend time outdoors during our weekend getaway but Mother Nature did not allow it with the tropical storm Ophelia pouring rain for the entire weekend. However, we made the most of it and was still nice to relax away from home.

A great lodge
Originally went for two days with a friend intending to explore the Valley. Finding the lodge was easy even at night and the directions provided were on point. Due to a check-in date mix up the owner offered an extra night to us at no extra cost. The conversation with the owner was very friendly and I really appreciate the friendliness. What made the stay (including the extra day) worth it was the coziness of the lodge, the amenities (centralized cooling a big plus), the closeness to the valley, caverns and outdoor activities. We went kayak (which was not originally in the plans) only because we saw the place while driving to the lodge. Found some really good eating spots just a few mins drive which in my opinion is a big plus.

Canoeing weekend
Went with friends and spent 2 days on the Shenandoah River via Downriver Canoe Co (they're great, BTW!). Chose this location bc of its proximity to Downriver and beautiful view. Arrived on Friday and used the fire pit to get the coals going, then transfered them to the grilling chimney. The grill grate over there needs replacing but the food was delicious. It rained Sat night and the front porch came in handy to listen to the rain fall. Property is definitely "rustic" but comfortable and not missing anything. Gave 4 stars bc of the bathroom - the shower hardware had a thick layer of soap scum on it and tub needed more attention. Kitchen looked great. Overall, despite the bathroom that just needs a little more elbow grease, the cabin served our purpose well and we'd stay there again. Others said the insects were an issue, but it wasn't for us. We didn't even need bug spray when sitting on the porch.

Nice cabin
This is a lovely cabin nestled in the woods with an easy 15 minute drive into town. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We went a few days before July 4th and hoped for a quiet week, but unfortunately our dogs were terrified of the fireworks set off by the neighbors and people across the river. So if you have dogs that hate fireworks I would avoid this cabin during the July 4th time. Besides that issue, the cabin had everything we needed. Nice yard. Comfy couch and beds. All the basic kitchen essentials provided. John was a kind and responsive host.

Remote Log cabin
The property is approximately a quarter mile off the highway but felt very isolated and rustic because it was not near any other properties, The cabin was exactly as described in the listing. The owner's instructions were meticulous down to the last detail. It is definitely a lovely, forest cabin
