Torrelodones Gem

The house was as described. We travelled into Madrid on a daily basis and did not return till mid evening. The only thing I would mention is that the tv is extremely small and sofas are not comfortable at all for lounging and watching tv. Other than that, the house was great. Very clean and beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped.

Fantastic location and accomodation

The apartment (house) is located in a quiet suburb north of Madrid, we accessed by car but used the train to travel into Madrid... all very easy. The owner lives on the property and was very helpful. Highly recommended. Thanks Carlos for the opportunity to stay in your property, we really enjoyed the few days in Torrelodones.

Wonderful location & excellent host

We had a fantastic time holiday at Torrelodones!! Carlos, the host was amazing & incredibly responsive before & during our stay. He provided us transportation & restaurant information & answered all our questions promptly. The house was well equipped with everything & even had Netflix (which we were very thankful for during the heatwave). The kitchen had all the basics & towels were provided. We were also able to do most of our washing so not too much dirty laundry came back home with us, which is a huge bonus. The heated pool was awesome & given that we had a heatwave we literally lived in the pool. The house & garden were beautiful and the location was about 10 minutes to the shops, pharmacy & bus stops restaurants. We went to Madrid & Torrelodones Pueblo on the bus & everything was very straightforward & fun. We didn’t have or need a car as the public transport was excellent. The house is located in a super quite residential area so we had to ensure that the kids were not too loud in the pool which when you have heat wave & 3 kids (ages 10, 10, & 15) can be difficult. My only reservation about the property is while the kids were not overly loud (I may of course be noise blind to my kids) they were very excited about been on holiday & playing pool games so it was abit stressful for me having to constantly police the noise level as Carlos had asked us to be quieter as not to disturb the neighbours.

Family Visit

Really wonderful, spacious house in a very peaceful location, set in beautiful grounds with pool. The house is comfortable and well equipped. Close to local amenities and a short drive to the pueblo. Carlos is a very friendly and accommodating host and looks after his guests well! Recommend.

Spring Break in Madrid

I booked this property the night before arriving in Madrid which I suggest you don't do since I can't imagine it being available too often. Carlos responded immediately to our request to book and provided a Google maps link to the property. He met us upon arrival and graciously showed us around the house and the neighborhood. The property is within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies and ATMs. It is also a very secure gated location in a great neighborhood. We will not hesitate to stay with Carlos again and I will reccomend his property to my clients traveling to Madrid.

Great stay

Carlos was very prompt answering questions before our arrival. He actually has a YouTube video explaining the access to the house with instructions for unlocking the gate,house,doors for vehicle access. Beds and flannel sheets (weather was very cold) were very comfortable. Nicely equipped kitchen. Carlos went for a drive around town with us to explain where things were. Had a great time despite the cold (0 in Segovia!)

Beautiful house in lovely location, with perfect host

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house, which has everything you could need and is set in a very nice, quiet part of the town. Ideal location for exploring Madrid and other nearby places of interest (of which there are many!). The train station is about 15 minutes walk and Madrid within 30 minutes by train. We hired a car to explore the nearby national park too. Cafes, restaurants and shops in the town, again a 10 minute walk. Carlos was a perfect host from start to finish, very friendly and welcoming - he took us on a brief tour of the town as well as providing tips on places of interest and nearby facilities. We enjoyed talking to him and his family and learning about some Spanish history and culture. Nothing was too much trouble for Carlos and he even gave us a lift to the station when we departed, having had a wonderful holiday. We would absolutely stay again, and thoroughly recommend the house to anyone else wishing to stay in the area!

Perfect with kids and 6 persons

Simply perfect with kids and everything you need in a walking distance. We enjoyed our week in Torrelodones and the house is perfect for 6 persons and our kids (8 and 12) loved the pool - even when it became colder. 7-8 min. from the house you will find different shops (open from 8-24) and very nice spanish restaurants. Renfe - short walk to the station (14 min.) - takes you to the center of Madrid in arround 30-35 min. and we didnt´t need a car. Thanks to Lorena (Carlos daughter) who was a super host the first days. We had a perfect stay, and loved both Torrelodones and our trips to Madrid. Try a walk to "The tower of Torrelodones" (Atalaya) with a perfect view over Madrid and also the Zeppelin bar for really nice "not expensive" spanish food. I hope we will come back sometime. Property is large, comfortable, well equipped and along with the pool and gardens, very well kept. We stayed lateJuly,early August and the mature trees in the garden offered some welcome shade from the sun. Location of the house was ideal for us, never having been to Madrid, as it offered easy access to the city by car, or rail (you can walk to the train station) as well as roads out to the country where there are many places to visit, walks to do, whatever your preference. Torrelodones is handy as you can walk to local shops/supermarkets for essentials and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance too. I would highly recommend this property, which in my opinion offers very good value for money.

Great home and location

This was the perfect place to spend part of our vacation in Spain. We visited Madrid, Segovia, El Escorial and Toledo which are must see locations and convenient by auto or train from Torreldones. The home was great and the garden/pool provided a welcome respite from long days of sightseeing. We booked this property based on previous positive reviews and our stay exceeded expectations. The owner is very friendly and was available to answer our local area questions and provide recommendations.

Great place for exploring Madrid and surroundings

We had a great holiday in Torrelodones. The house is spacious and comfortable and has all the amenities you might need. It is located in a quiet residential area within walking distance of a shopping street with supermarkets, restaurants and cafés. Madrid is easily reached by train and so are the mountains and El Escorial. No need for a car. The owner is very friendly, offered to pick us up at the train station and showed us the town on arrival. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Our stay in this apartment was simply fantastic! The apartment was spotlessly clean and perfectly furnished. Nothing was missing.
