Hotel is beautiful and well taken care of, and it’s in the middle of some great restaurants and fast food. Only thing that sucked was that elevator and pool were closed due to maintenance and we were placed on the 4th floor so that was a bit of an inconvenience.

This place was probably nice when it was new, but it must not be doing well since they seem to have skimped on maintenance, and it showed. Here are the things we dealt with: 1. Elevators weren't working 2. The carpeting in the stairs was loose and damaged -- dangerously so. 3. The shower door wouldn't stay closed so water ran all over bathroom floor. 4. The provided remote control wouldn't control their video system or TV -- not even volume. 5. The AC system in the room couldn't be controlled from the wall thermostat or the AC box. It was 68 degrees in the room and in order to get it to stop pumping out cold air we had to unplug it. 6. The room fridge didn't have temperature control, but was so cold it froze (and ruined) everything we put in it. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the show? Well, the breakfast was pretty good for a 2-star hotel, especially the oatmeal add-ins selection.

We arrived and found no one behind the check in desk. We waited about 5 minutes before calling out into the office. No one was there. There were two women employees taking a break about 20 feet from us who watched but never said a word to us. (language barrier?) When the desk clerk arrived he said that the elevator was broken and we would have to carry our luggage upstairs. I showed him my cane, I'm a disabled vet. He found us a room on the first floor but it was not like the one we had reserved. Once in the room the TV would not work and we had to replace two low wattage light bulbs so we could see. to read. Something we learned during our last stay there. When we left it was with out breakfast since it was not ready. When we checked out the "clerk" did not ask us anything about our stay, he looked like some guy who just walked in off the streets. We have stayed there in the past but will NOT again.

This is one of the newest hotels in Gallup. We got to our room late. The AC would not kick on no matter what we tried. We were sweating all night it was awful. I called the front desk and all the other rooms were booked so we were SOL. They gave me a noisy old box fan that moved the hot air around. When Expedia called the front desk for us after we had checked out they offered to send a tech to the room to fix the AC. Unbelievable. We paid 200 to sweat and be disregarded. Never again.

AC control
The AC/Heating unit was not able to be controlled by the switch/dial on it. Called the mgt and they explained that it was controlled by the wall thermostat.
